My husband and I stayed for two nights (a Saturday and Sunday). I guess i'd sum it like this: Plus points: 1) amazing location - very central to old town and museums 2) not too expensive given its location (we paid £100 a night) 3) rooms clean and the shower was lovely 4) the breakfast was plentiful but nothing special... Stayed two weeks at the Hotel. Excellent staff Basic but very clean rooms Great shower and bathroom Fantastic brakfast What more could you possibly ask for? Easy access to the city centre and party places nearby. But still nice and quiet and no through traffic, which allowed me to sleep with an open window.

the hotel has a "nice" maritime design (but very basic)and offers a friendly service and a good brekfast, the only really negative thing is the bar in the ground floor which at xmas time closed at 1 AM and was so loud that even in the upper floors it was impossible to sleep

We really enjoyed our stay at the Drottning. Our rooms were more spacious than we expected and the whole place is very charming. The location can't be beat - right near the Grand Hotel and walking distance to the old town and all the museums.

If you want basic accommodations for an affordable price this is for you. The location is also ideal. It is on a small peninsula on a quiet side street. It is a short distance from Old Town, as well as one of the ports where the many boat tours depart from. Many restaurants and pubs are also close by. The... More

Terrific location in Teatergatan in the centre of Blasieholmen, between the Grand and Radisson SAS Stand hotels, near the National Museum. Rooms are large and comfortable, if a little austere, but everything (heating, hot water etc.) works perfectly. Breakfast buffet is good, though simple by Stockholm standards. Rates are low compared to other hotels in central Stockholm. This is a... More

The hotel is perfectly located right in the middle of downtown Stockholm, within walking distance to the Old City, the Opera House, restaurants, several major musuems, ferries and hop-on-hop-off busses, and just 3 min.from the Metro. The staff is extraordinarily helpful and friendly, the breakfast is varied and plentiful, the double rooms are simple but spacious, and there is a... More

The Orlogshem is a former navy hotel, but now serves everybody. It's main attraction is the location, steps away from Nybroviken, Kungsträdgården and Skeppsholmen. It is also less than half a mile from Sergels torg. The rooms are simple, but my single room was not that small and had a very good bed. It was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was... More

You're in for something else at this hotel. The maritime theme comes from the hotels origins as a maritime home for fleet officers. Very nice rooms. Clean and cosy. And with a fabulous location within walking distance of everything in central Stockholm. Highly recommended!

This little hotel on a side street near the water is easy to miss, but if you'd like to be close to the Old Town and the heart of Stockholm while not spending a fortune, it's perfect. It was once a hotel for sailors visiting the city and so maintains a nautical theme and simple, ship-shape sensibility. While the furnishings... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Örlogshotellet was founded in 1908 by Queen Victoria (wife of King Gustaf V Adolf). The purpose was to give young sailors of the Royal Swedish Navy, an opportunity to stay on land when visiting Stockholm. And at a very friendly price too. Örlogshotellet has, over the years, become more and more popular, not only among military personell. Allthough most of our guests work for, or are guests to, the Swedish Defence. Örlogshotellet offers shower/WC and TV in all rooms. All housed in a very centraly located 1920's building. There are about 40 restaurants, a number of cafees and theatres/cinemas, just around the corner. Breakfast is served daily. ... more   less
