Although Kiruna can be found on the "not worth visiting" list, the stay at Camp Ripan was pleasant. We had a family hut that must have been renovated recently- new IKEA furniture, new IKEA kitchen, good beds, very clean. Excellent location for preparation or recovery from hikes in the endless nature. more

A bit out of the town, a big area, nicely maintained hotel. When we went lot of renovation was being done with the reception block. Folks at reception were nice. We stayed here in Feb 2007 not expecting too much as the room rate was very cheap. Although this was because we opted for a cabin that hadnt been refurbised yet. I expected it to be terrible but in fact it was clean and nice for what we wanted. The resort in winter was remarkable. Looks amazing covered in snow.... more

We stayed at Ripan for 2 nights, and absolutely loved it! The children loved playing in the deep snow, and there were plenty of heaps to slide down. We stayed 4 nights with 2 kids and had a ball! We booked into nearly all of the christmas activities they had offered in a program(skidoo, dog sled) which were all very organised, supplying all the extra warmth needed (significantly cheaper than the ice hotel).
