We passed through Carrick on our way to spend an afternoon at the magnificent cliffs of Slieve League. Stopped at the Lodge for a quick lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Tried a dessert we had never heard of: Carageem & Bailey's Mousse -- oh, my - wish I could get that back in the States. Just... More

Couldn't have had a better location as a base for Slieve League. Our room exceeded our expectations for a hostel. Particularly nice en suite bath. Nice view out of cute dormer window. We had the "family room" on the top floor. Not an issue for us because we enjoyed hanging out with the locals in the bar downstairs. But if... More

This is a great place to stay. The room was clean and comfortable and surprisingly quiet since it was straight above the busy pub. We could have chosen to use the catering facilities but just made tea and coffee in the kitchen upstairs. We had two nights here but would happily have stayed longer. The pub was a great place... My family stayed here for 4 nights for a family reunion and special mass. My husband is a local. Rooms clean and bright, showers lovely, food great and staff wonderful. I am a bad sleeper so the very best about this hotel was the kitchen and lounge on the first floor. The bar noises didn't bother us as we were... More

My husband and I stayed here for four nights. We went up Slieve Liag on the Saturday lunchtime. Met up with lots of family who live in the area. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are basic and clean. Lots of stairs to climb to the rooms. If you don't want breakfast after 9am, then there is a kitchen and... More

Mostly, we had a good time at the Slieve League Lodge. The staff was nice, our room was nice, the price is really honest; the only problem we had was with the noise downstairs. The rooms are located just on top of a popular local pub, which is really nice if you want to go drink a beer, but later... More

We were impressed by the fabulous rooms which looked more like a hotel than a hostel! Great beds, a small but nice bathroom and everything very tidy and clean. Towels and bed linen were included and for just 5€ you get a lovely, home cooked breakfast that strenghtens you for your trip to the cliffs :) There's also a very-well... More

Just back from a most enjoyable stay at the Lodge, the staff couldn't do enough for us. Rooms were ideal and comfy beds for the tired bones. The gang felt really welcomed and relaxed, so we considering making it an annual trip. Thanks again to Mandy, and all the gang, Crannagh Ramblers
