I have low expectations of anything with "hostel" in its name, but this place is OK, more like a budget hotel. We had quite a large, en suite room to ourselves with several beds in it, including a double, but the hired bedlinen is only for single beds. You have to make up the beds when you arrive and strip... The Hostel is one of the more modern designed versions and not basic at all. More three star hotel. Where it differs from a hotel is that you need to rent your bedding and towels. This is of course reflected in the price, which for Scandinavia is very good. The rooms are very spacious, clean and contain everything you need... More

Great location right by the Viking museuem. The room itself was lovely, spacious and had interesting murals on them. Breakfast was good enough with seats upstairs facing the canal and harbour. Only 2 visible power-points - one far away by the door and one in the bathroom. So frustrating when you need to sit down at the desk/in bed and... More

I spent 4 days in the Danhostel for a workshop. My room was very spacious and clean. Even if the bathroom was rather minimalist, the decoration was very modern and nice. The breakfast was very good. The location of the hostel is not so far from the train station (20min walking) and is close to the Fjord. The view and... More

Located right on the harbor next to the viking museum and less than half an hours walk from the train station. A unique setting for a hostel and provided comfy, spacious rooms with en-suites and TV. If you're looking for a fair priced hostel with great views and friendly staff this is definitely one to consider.

After so many experiences where one books a double room and get two twin beds pushed together (and falling down into the crater in the middle of the night), the fact that one actually gets a double-bed when you book one gives a huge head-start to Danhostel Roskilde. For those not used to the Hostel concept, it may sound a... More

In July of 2014, my family, ages 62, 52, and 14, arrived in Copenhagen from the US and made our way to Danhostel Roskilde in the early evening. Having never stayed in a hostel, this was an excellent choice for us because, while very basic and compact, the room was clean, in excellent condition, and had everything we needed: linens... More

We stayed here for one night, and chose it for the location and availability of free parking. Its by the Viking Ship Museum and an art gallery/cafe, near restaurants, and a short walk from the stunning Cathedral. The room was clean, light and airy, overlooking car park, reasonable size, very functional and hostel-like. We had to pay to hire our... More

Basically the hostel is OK and is situated at a fantastic location near the Viking ship museum at the harbor - but the room we were in was really really small for four people, also compared to other hostels in north Zealand. It was also really really hot to start with, though it thankfully cooled down for the night. The... More

Far from the railway station and city center, this hostel is not worth the money. There is no wi-fi in the rooms, and weak wi-fi in the reception/kitchen, you have to log in again every now and then (200 DKK for 3 days). In the kitchen the microwave oven has been broken for years. The refrigerators are not clean. There... More
