See above. Excelent breakfast. Situated in the center of C. gives good oportunites for visiting cosy ¨kroer¨. Try f. ex. ¨Frk. Barners Kaelder¨ Helgolandsgade 8A. An Autentic Danish Cooking with Aperitifs made by themselfs.

My boyfriend and I spent a lovely weekend here in January 2016. The hotel is just a 10 minute walk from the metro and easy access to lots of tourist areas. It is right beside the Tivoli Gardens, the Stroget, the Carlberg Glyptotek, the National Museum etc. The staff were really helpful and the room was small but very comfortable.... More

This is a very cool, small boutique hotel, conveniently located and within walking distance to Norreport station (metro and trains). The staff speak fluent English and go above and beyond to ensure your stay is comfortable and pleasant. I highly recommend the Alexandra Hotel and I will definitely stay there again when I am in Copenhagen.

Excellent location but everything else was rather disappointing. The breakfast (served in an adjacent Thai caffe which had nothing of the 60s charm) ended at 10am but when we got there one morning at 9.50am, they had already started to clear up (though plenty of people were still eating) and we were asked to leave at 10.20am with the glasses... Location is perfect, staff are lovely and rooms are clean and comfortable. Definitely will be my go-to in Copenhagen for the location and price. I liked the quirky vibe of the hotel and though on a busy road, is very quiet.

The location of this hotel is very good, certainly from spring on when Tivoli is open. In the the center of the city. The rooms are nicely decorated and some of the furniture is absolutely beautiful. I slept on the top floor but changed due to a nasty rattling sound in the room (probably aircon). The room on the 3rd... More

Ok! First of all if you come in past 2130 you get a free glass of wine. (Important things first). Staff were very friendly. Very good Wifi throughout the hotel. If you've missed the bit about the hotel being like the place the 60s forgot...well... just be aware! I was in a room straight from the 60s... literally everything was... More

I do not like giving low ratings but I cannot recommend this hotel. We arrived early on a Friday evening having pre-booked two rooms, one double and one single. The receptionist first asked which rooms we wanted. I said we had not been to the hotel before or Copenhagen so I had no idea what rooms we should ask for.... More

My husband and I stayed here twice, during a two week trek to Denmark and Faroe Islands. We had two different rooms - both were beautifully designed in 60's furniture. The rooms themselves weren't large, but it was big enough for the two of us. The bathrooms were incredibly small and the shower was hard to use as a woman... More

The 1960s style is done lovingly and with a minimal amount of retro cheese. Room 342 - slightly too dark but very comfortable double with street view. improvements: tv isnt 1960. But it is probably 2006. Clunky. And coffee in the reception would be a nice touch.

Staying in Indre By (Inner City)

Neighborhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.
