First thing you should know --- like many hotels in Copenhagen --- there is no air conditioning. So during the summer you are totally at the mercy of cooler weather and warm breezes. Out of our five night stay recently, two days when the temperature was in the low 60s (F) were extremely pleasant, but on the other days when... More

A nice room but looking into the courtyard for $425 a night? Really! The staff was not helpful or welcoming. I'm stopping in Copenhagen for 2 nights & would have cancelled my other reservation if the Kong Arthur had met my expectations but obviously that isn't necessary. Pam, California

This is a lovely hotel, friendly pleasant staff and a good breakfast buffet. My husband and I stayed 3 nights 4 days in Copenhagen but because of my mobility issues found the location and internally steps everywhere , a difficult few days in a beautiful city. The hotel is not on a bus route and to get anywhere it is... More

We arrived after a 12 hour flight from Singapore, at 6.30 am , 3 weeks ago, we had booked and paid for 3 nights, three months prior to our trip. We were advised that we were a ' no show' and our room was unavailable. The clerk was extremely unhelpful as our anger mounted. They did find us another much... More

Dear Lyndall We are sorry you experienced trouble when staying with us. We have in June experienced problems with the booking systems, and it has caused us a lot of trouble as well. But anyway, we managed to serve all our guests in the end. You got a room, you got an upgrade and you stayed here one night on... More

We recently spent 4 nights in the hotel and were a bit disappointed. The hotel is located in a quiet location, but this does not mean the rooms are quiet. We could hear people walking inthe room above us (hardwood floors). Also, the rooms are very stuffy with no a/c, so we had to keep windows open to cool. The... More

Dear Heather Thank you for your review. We are very sorry that you experienced noise at our hotel. We are often praised for the calm and quiet here, even if we are situated close by Nørreport and the market halls, the trade center of Copenhagen. We will investigate the matter further if you write to us, which days you stayed... More

This is a nice hotel with great reception staff comfortable (if small) rooms and a good breakfast provided in a lovely conservatory. Our room however was not well cleaned and we had to report a sticky floor twice as (presumably) the previous incumbent had spilled something very sticky on the floor. Excellent "Cozy Hour" but our room should have had... More

We saw many "business-type" guests at the hotel, but for tourists, my recommendation is to stay nearer to your objective...a "short walk" to a hop-on/hop-off bus stop (near Rosenborg Castle) took us about 20 min. of L-O-N-G blocks...the map distances are slightly misleading...the hotel was clean, with a decent-sized room and bathroom, the breakfast buffet was very good, but more... Dear Nancy Thank you for your review. We are glad to know that you had only good experiences with our staff. However, we are not that surprised, because we are very serious regarding our mission: come as guest leave as family. Actually Hotel Kong Arthur is situated in the (old town) close by the busiest train/metro station I Copenhagen. The... More

We spent a weekend here, and we have already decided that we will stay here again. The hotel is situated off a main street, so very quiet, and offers good sized rooms and bathrooms. Plenty of choices for breakfast (though the breakfast room was quite small), and a nice area for sitting outside. Also stoped by the SPA, which was... More

I travel to Copenhagen about 2-3 times a year for the last 3 years on business and I am still trying to find a favorite hotel. For me Kong Arthur was just ok - I stayed there for 5 nights. The hotel is in a good location - about a 20-25 minute walk to the major attractions of Copenhagen. The... More

The original room we had booked in the hotel was small and had a round bed, but was large enough for what we needed it for, except that the wifi connection was almost non existent. After a simple question we were moved to a different and bigger room were the wifi was excellent. The hotel is ideally located to explore... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Kong Arthur is situated right between the beautiful inner lakes of Copenhagen and the buzzing downtown, only 15 min. from the airport by metro. The style is exclusive and modern with a hint of medieval - we call it a mix of rustic and chic. The atmosphere is cozy and informal: A lit fireplace, comfy sofas, pillows in the window sill, a stack of books on the shelves, beautiful courtyards adorned with green plants, cobbles and a unique peacefulness. ... more   less
