We booked here from comments on Rick Steve's Europe book in addition to comments on this website. We stayed prior to a Baltic Cruise and spent three nights. It was super easy to get there from the airport (they provide you with step by step instructions) and due to its' close proximity to the train station, provides a great starting... More

Spent three nights here on a big road trip from London and loved it. The reviewers recommended and upgraded room and this was a good choice as rooms in this city are smaller. The bath was a little unusual as its an egg shape and was hard to prevent water from going into the floor but it was a wet... More

Very close to the main train station so transfer from the airport even with luggage is no problem at all. Rooms smallish but beds very comfortable. No tea or coffee facilities in the room but tea and coffee available from reception for free. Organic theme throughout and echoed in the bathroom amenities. Free Wifi. Breakfast nice but for me on... The hotel in itself is quite nice, situated near Meatpack district and in a quiet street. The rooms have great decoration, organic beauty products are available in bathrooms and WiFi works well. Very tidy, clean and really cosy. With collegue we had a very positive experience in their restaurant: food is freash, service is also good. Spa is also good... More

This little boutique hotel looks very nice and has great rooms, but avoid it for families. First, it is located in a complete rat hole. Second, the rooms are spacious but very noisy. The floors creak very loudly, you can hear every footstep from those both below and above you. Worst of all the noise level is unbearable. The restaurant... More

First off, the location is walkable from the train station, which was great. I booked the hotel and when we had to walk by a strip club my husband was like ummm what kind of area did you book us in? Don't be alarmed there are other hotels in the same area and the area felt very safe even when... More

My wife and I stayed at the Axel Guldsmeden earlier this month. We were only there for one night, so we enjoyed the close proximity to the train station, which was an easy walk, even with luggage. The apples they had near the front door for you to enjoy were a very nice welcoming touch, and the hotel staff we... More

We had a really great stay at the Axel Guldsmeden, which we found through suggestions of our Danish friends. Small rooms, but nicely furnished, and a focus on ecology and being green. The Breakfast Buffet was included in the price of the room, and we really enjoyed it - it was freaking awesome, with fresh fruits, meats, cheeses, breads, and... More

Yep, the hotel has thin walls, noisy corridors in the mornings and evenings and the lift is very slow. Yep, we had two large suitcases and no one came to help us bring them into the hotel. And yes, it isn't what you'd send your grandparents to, nor a large family with small children. If you keep all this in... More

The Axel Guldsmeden is an interesting hotel. The organic concept is cool and we love taking care of the environment, but in many ways it takes away from the type of holiday experience we 50 year olds like. It felt kind of like a cool hostel for 20 & 30-somethings. Crunchy towels, rustic wood and stone finishes and a noticeable... More
