This hotel is in a convenient location, just a few steps from the train station and from Tivoli, & a brief walk to most of Copenhagen's main attractions. The rooms are basic and rather stark, but clean and (by European standards) spacious. The staff is friendly and helpful, and room rates include a free buffet breakfast. I especially appreciated free... more

My stay at DGI Byens in Copenhagen was disappointing. This considering I had no expectations to begin with. To break it down, here are the pros and cons: Cons: - No air conditionning (the norm in Copenhagen but when it is very hot in summer, one must open the windows and the DGI Byens is right beside the central train... more

I thought this hotel was a great option. Though, we paid $312.00 per night, that was not untypical for Copenhagen. The complex has a college dorm feeling, but it has a quaint feel. I was please with our stay. The room was not ready till 2P, when we arrived at 900A. That was okay as we left our baggage in... more

I've stayed at this place numerous times over the last few years. I travel from California to Copenhagen for periodic work trips. If nothing, this place is consistent. It's not fancy and it's not perfect, but for the price and location, there's little to beat it. The plusses are: location and amenities. This place is directly next to the best... more

I know we were in Scandinavia, but the design of the room was not modern, it was just very dull and plain. The size was decent, but it felt like we were in a hospital. Also, we kept on hearing other doors closing. Finally the bathroom was in definite need for renovation: everything was falling apart. Because it's part of... more

We stayed in DGI-byen over New Year's Eve. We chose it mainly because of its price - which was very low for Copenhagen, and its location. The location is very central - right next to the main train station, so it is easy to access from the airport. Although we had view on the train tracks the room was very... more

Very close to the central station, a good place to explore the city. The room was fine for the price, which was a little bit high. The bathroom was very clean and you don't need to take shampoo and shower cream as they give you Dove ones. Very quiet. Breakfeast ok. Bring a bathing suit, because the hotel has a... more

We stay in the DGI-Byen for 3 nights in November. Before travelling we checked up some of the reviews and were abit apprehension about staying at the hotel (even though we had booked at this stage). We did not know what to expect. We were very pleasantly surprised. Firstly the location of the hotel was excellent.. 5 min walk from... more

Was quite worried having seen some of the reviews on trip advisor but this hotel is clean, functional and a great place to stay for a city break. We had an inner room and did not hear any train noise when the windows were closed - slept really well. Breakfast was adequate but largely cheese, meat and cereal. No hot... more

This was booked on the basis of its description in the Rough Guide to Copenhagen as being an example of sleek Scandinavian design and because of its location next to the DGI-Byen swimming pool. The rooms, though modern, were hardly ground-breaking design, the only homage to Scandinavian design being pine flooring. Nothing to complain about, the room looked modern and... more
