My hosts put me up, so I'm not sure of the cost/value. It is slightly (by which I mean "a few blocks") off the beaten track, but I like that. That does mean you had to walk at least a few blocks to get the bus or mass transit. The room was small but clean, the free wireless Internet worked... more

About ten minutes walk from the center of town (Radhuspladsen and Tivoli) this hotel is clean and functional. It was much larger than we expected, apparently having about five floors with 30-40 rooms per floor, so there were plenty of folk around. The one small elevator was rather inadequate. The rooms were clean, although simple, but big enough and the... more

We stayed for three nights in a room on the top floor. The room had a smell, stained carpets, linens that slid off the bed, and small windows that led to no air circulation. We also stayed during a festival weekend and were up to 5 am with booming techno music from someone in the neighborhood. The breakfasts were good... more

The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood just a few blocks from the busy Town Hall Square, Central Station areas. The hotel is well maintained and sustainably operated for zero carbon emissions. The rooms are clean, nicely furnished and the beds are very comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful, room service is available through a great restaurant next... more

Booked using Ibsens own website and got full confirmation of booking. Room booked was a 'Grand lit' at a rate of 600Dkk Arrived just after 11pm after a long day and evening spent travelling from the UK. Was told that breakfast was included - I didn't want breakfast but was told it had been included?!?! Upon handing me my room... more

We selected this hotel based on Rick Steves' recmomendation. We like Steves' "back door" philoosophy to European travel, having in lived in Europe ourselves for 14 years. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Our room was perfectly fine for a 3 star category hotel. It was clean & the bed was comfortable. Other travelers have commented on... more

I stayed here for a week in January, 2009. The breakfast buffet was huge, and the food was delicious. Although I ate the hotel breakfast each morning, I only ate dinner at the restaurant once, because I found the prices on the dinner menu to be higher than what I wanted to pay; however, the dinner was also delicious. The... more

We stayed at Ibsens Hotel in February. It was a lovely weekend I the center of Copenhagen, the hotel in a great neighborhood with lots of cafés and bars. The hotel was fine, nice room on the 5th floor. Great breakfast. Overall a pleasant trip. Would defiantly go there again. more

We are three mature Australian women who stayed at the Ibsens for a week in July. Our room was on the top floor & we kept hitting our head on the beams. Spiders came in through the windows, which we had to keep open as there was no air con & it was very hot. The room was poorly laid... more

I’m sorry to hear that you got such a bad impression of our hotel. Last summer Denmark underwent a very strong heat wave that made the temperatures almost unbearable to some people. As you come from Australia, I’m sure that you are no stranger to warm weather, but in Denmark these kinds of temperatures are unusual. For the same reason...

This hotel is way overpriced, damp, smelly, dirty and just not pleasant! Deceived by the hotel photos, and Rick Steve's recommendation, this hotel failed us. It was cold, and smelly in the hallways already, the beds were too soft, pillows lumpy and there were dirty carpets in the rooms. We had two rooms in our group - one room had... more

The hotel Ibsens is located in one of the older neighborhoods in Copenhagen, as Nansensgade and Vendersgade (Ibsens is on the corner of these two streets) were founded immediately after the old city walls were torn down in 1853. Back then it was working-class areas, but today it is considered one of the most attractive neighborhoods in central Copenhagen. Ibsens...
