Stayed at Hotel Opera in a single room for one night in November 2015 while visiting Copenhagen for business. My secretary booked this hotel and I (unfortunately...) didn’t look into it beforehand. Positives: - Excellent location for some quick shopping (Magasin du Nord) and metro station (Kungens Nytorv) for the direct metro line to the airport. It’s about a 10... More

Excellent location, classic old-style... good breakfasts. It really was a delightful visit. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included... you are only about 8 min walk from the train station and shopping centers. A very nice stay, recommend!

We stayed here one night and found it to be very centrally and conveniently located. Very pleasant front desk staff. The overall decor of the hotel seemed a bit dated, but was comfortable and inviting. Would chose it again given the opportunity or the 71 Nyhavn Hotel, which is also well located.

A very pleasant and comfortable stay in this friendly 3 star hotel. The room and the beds were very comfortable, and the continental breakfast varied and generous. Tivoli Gardens and the Nyhaven Quay are in walking distance, as is a long pedestrianised shopping street. (The name of which now escapes me: Stroget perhaps)

This is like visiting your great grandmother's house who has refused to upgrade the place other than the occasional patched walls. Needs major upgrading. It felt grimy even though it was clean. Felt like I needed to take a shower after leaving. Does not have a Danish feel. Seems to attract older clientele. Check in and check out staff were... More

The Hotel Opera has a certain vintage/ old world charm to it. It's quiet, cozy and friendly. There's free WiFi, a restaurant (though only open at certain times), friendly staff, and a computer room that is yours for free (printer included). Our room did not face the main street and was quite quiet, however, it was small- almost too small.... More

At first a little put off but the location, but who knew it was right in the heart of everything. We walked everywhere - and walked to Nyhavn at least once a day! 10 minute walk at the most! Ventured out in every direction -I suppose we could've taken a bus, but the walk is so pleasant! Hotel was small,... More

I thought the stay was ok, but it really depends on which room you get. One of my friend's room was much bigger with a spacious bathroom. Mine was slightly difficult to move around it. Also the WIFI is strong in the lobby only, didn't work in my room (1/F), which is a big minus. Breakfast was quite nice. Lobby... More

I had a single room in this hotel, small but comfortable. And for a very reasonable price in the expensive city of Copenhagen. The staff is very friendly, the breakfast is excellent. The location is excellent and remarkably quiet for the city center.

We were in this hotel for one night only, furtunatelly. We had chosen within the choice of different type of room the small double room, for cost reason. We could not believe how small our rooms were. We could hardly move inside. The batroom was quite old but with a sufficient quantity of towels. The room was clean but really... More

Staying in Christianshavn

Neighborhood Profile
Christianshavn
Just across one of the many bridges from Indre By, you’ll find Christianshavn. An eclectic area with old brick lanes, houses dating back to the 16th century, and canals which are home to many boats and ships, some of which has been turned into restaurants or even serve as fully furnished homes. The best known attraction in Chistianshavn is Christiania, a “free town” of residents who squat on a former military area. However just a stone’s throw away from Christiania, you’ll find some of the most fashionable waterfront apartment buildings in Copenhagen as well as the splendid Royal Opera House.
