I stayed in this hotel back in April 2013. Anders, who worked at the front desk was amazing, and sooooo helpful. I would most definitely stay here again. It was a great location, close enough to walk to the main parts of the city.

I stayed at First Hotel Esplanaden in July 2013 with a friend. It was our first trip to Copenhagen and from the reviews and map we got an impression that the hotel was located close to the center. That was not the case and we ended up walking quite a bit during our stay. That was not a problem because... More

I stayed at this hotel for one night before a cruise and it was fine for that purpose. Even though the room was very small, the location was great, and the breakfast very good. I would recommend it for that purpose, but not so much for a longer stay.

Stayed one night pre-cruise & 2 nights post-cruise. Our booking had been changed by the First hotels group from another one that was closing down. Our first stay was unimpressive. Tacky decor, top floor velux window - which didn't shut properly - overlooked a busy main road; curtain didn't fit, no plug for bathroom sink, poor lighting. But breakfast was... More

Perfectly located hotel in KØBENHAVN, very nice staff, nice rooms, hotel is renting bikes, restaurant is nothing special, you can park along the street for free - if you can read danish, otherwise you get a ticket, like me - very good price concerning that you are in Danemark. I would pick it again.

We were in disbelief at how run down and tiny room 520 was. The website claimed that the hotel had spacious rooms with high ceilings but we were given a small attic room that smelt like body odour and had a broken shower. When we mentioned this to the staff (who were very nice) they admitted that the hotel was... More

We went in family in this hotel for a week-end trip in Copenhagen. Our triple room was clean enough but furnitures and the bathroom were obsolete. A curtain was broken and has been repaired promptly. The previous host left a jacket in a cabinet. The cleaning lady should have a look on these small thinks too...

A. Small hotel in a calm and quiet area. The rooms was small but fresh and clean so it was good value for the money. There was a small but good working lobby with kind and helpful stuff. Its walking distanse to the most you want to se and do in Copenhagen. Very close to Langelinie port, Nyhavn, Ströget. And... More

I stayed here with two colleagues. The beds were very comfortable. A perfect night's sleep. But everything else was moderate. The rooms are fairly basic and in need of sprucing up. Attention to detail was lacking: two colleagues did not have towels. One had a toilet seat that she had to clean herself. Breakfast was adequate. But the main impression... More

I stayed in this hotel for one night in July. I had read mixed reviews before booking, but there wasn't much left to choose from,so I decided to give it a go. I know Copenhagen is expensive, but after paying 95 euros for a singleroom with breakfast included,I expected more. Pros: + The location. The hotel is located within easy walking distance to... More

Staying in Indre By (Inner City)

Neighborhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.
