My partner decided to join me at the tail-end of my European business trip. We usually prefer to stay in 4-star or 5-star hotels, but we accidentally came across Carsten's online and figured that we'd try something different. While I rated the guesthouse overall as a 3, please know that we had a wonderful experience at Carsten's. The guesthouse is... More

Normally, I don't enjoy sharing a bathroom, but Copehagen is so expensive that finding a room for 100E a night seemed worth it. And, it was. Carsten and Harrie are wonderful people, and very welcoming. Their place is about 10 minutes from the Copenhagen Central Station and just about everywhere else in Copehagen as well. There are numerous bathrooms and... More

We opted to stay at Carsten's apartment which is on the other side of the old town. Simply fantastic and close to everything. My wife suggested this as she isn't big into shared facilities, though I don't have a problem. This location is only 10 mins walk from just about anywhere ...simply fantastic. Carsten is great...such a friendly welcome, and... More

Nice place on the top floor of the building with a great location and there is breakfast & drinks available for a separate reasonable price. Friendly doggie was greeting but not disturbing every time i came in. The rooftop terrace was a nice place to hang out with other guests or just to read and sip drinks. The room was... More

Varied accommodation from well equiped double King sized to multi-occupancy dorm rooms. No en-suite in main building. Plenty of bathrooms and toilets. Very comfortable guest lounge plus other sitting areas. Small roof garden. Breakfast cooked to order.- great ! On trust fridge for cold drinks incl beer. Good location. Helpful owner. You don't have to be gay to stay, just... More

I arrived and was met by no one. Eventually someone came back and showed me my room for the evening. The stay was comfortable and a good size room. Bathroom and showers not that clean though and all bottles left out were empty and piled up. I only bumped into one other person before meeting who I think was Carsten... More

This is a very unusual guest house, but it was a good experience. Carsten is very friendly, as are most of the other guests who were staying there, and the atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and respectful. The rooms are of a good standard, and some of them are really very nice. This is a good value option for those wishing... More

The first time I stayed with Carsten was in 2008. It was my first trip to Copenhagen (from Australia) And even though not gay myself, I figured it might be more interesting to stay in a 'gay' guesthouse. And I was right. It is a clean, well run operation just as you would hope. It is Carsten's home and his... More

OK, it's not that expensive for Copenhagen, BUT... - we're used to traveling in B&B and guest houses... here, the contact was quite formal, like it could be in a chain hotel, not what you could expect in this kind of place - Although we must confess that on our arrival we were proposed an "upgrade" in an apartment in... This has been the coolest place I have ever been!! We were a group of 8 and all our bedrooms where great size, clean and perfectly decorated. Carsten, is the best host you could ever imagine, so friendly and relax that makes you feel at home. The shared toilets where not a problem, always clean. The location is also great.... More
