Me and my husband (straight couple) were very welcome as well, the room was clean along with the kitchen and the bathroom. No complaints. Carsten and his boyfriend were nice & made us feel at home. Great location, so close to the town centre. Would love to stay there again.

I stayed at Carsten's Guesthouse in late August 2013, for four nights over the Copenhagen Pride weekend. Carsten himself is a very nice bloke, and his relaxed demeanour helps guests chill out, but he also has plenty of suggestions if you want to party. My room was clean and spacious with a comfy bed, small fridge, and nice windows with... More

The guesthouse is a 15 minute walk from central station (though there is also a bus) and fairly easy to find. Our room was a decent size, clean and comfortable. It is very reasonably priced. The guys running it are slightly cool but perfectly friendly and easy to speak with. I would be happy to stay here again.

Pros: The location is great! My partner and I were there for Copenhagen Pride in August 2013, and the guest house was located within walking distance of all the nightlife. It's a very safe area as well. As Copenhagen is an expensive city, the guest house is one of the more moderately priced accommodations in the area. Cons: The guest... More

I choose this locan even if many comments were negative regarding Carsten attitute towards guests. He was simply brilliant: He waited for me even if my plane arrived at 3 oclock in the morning with a smile and a warm welcome. Than when I left the house at 4 oclock in the morning he called a taxi and let me... More

Carsten 's has a good location but the staff, especially Kell and his boyfriend are not friendly. One smokes and it smells up the whole place. A friendly smile and demeanor would be much appreciated. Also, web site should include walking directions from the train station. Would not stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Carsten and Harrie and the entire staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is very good--centrally located and a short walk to almost everything. The view of the harbor from the street side rooms is very nice--although a bit noisy if the windows are open.

I booked a room at Carstens for the week of Eurovision Song Contest in May 2012. Carsten is a really great host, though his personality is very casual and matter-of-fact. That is the only reason I can see that any of the other reviewers found him aloof or unfriendly (which was FAR from my own experience). I had a small,... More

Just like the other posts, Carsten should get out of the hospitality business. This is a great location but that's where the compliments stop. It's basically a backpackers, a bit run down, shared bathrooms (only 2 on my floor which frequently meant waiting). Floorboards creak badly so if someone has a room above you, the noise is irritating. The host... More

The guest house is just a few minutes walk away from almost all spots to see in Copenhagen. As it is situated at a large road, it might get quite noisy in the bedrooms, even at night. But that's the price you have to pay, if you want to stay close to the City centre, so nothing to complain about... More
