Guldsmeden (named after the street where it is situated) is a very cosy and hospitable hotel. It's rather small and the breakfast is served in the same room as the reception, so if you are looking for something decidedly conventional, this is not it. But if you like a boutique experience with a friendly staff in the middle of the... More

Hotel Guldsmeden is very nice and cosy small hotel right in the most funny and funky quarter in the center of Aarhus. Choose this one if you are tired of boring standard hotels. free coffee, juice and cookies in the evening (Wine in the weekend ). The breakfast is much better than normal ( ecological).

I'm so glad we stayed at Aarhus Guldsmeden! Although we had an initial hiccup (we drove and didn't see the sign for the hotel, and I tried to call twice but there was no answer), our entire stay was lovely. The hotel is small, so the reception area also serves as the breakfast room and space for afternoon snacks. Our... More

One of my favourite hotels in the whole world. Great little hotel, organic, twisted and very nice. Bali meets Aarhus. Kind service. Snacks around the clock. We met Australia one tuesday night after having tapas in town.

This is a great hotel at the centre of Aarhus. The hotel has free coffee and well chosen and presented nice Danish little snacks available throughout the day on a buffet (including bites of chocolate and cheese / biscuits) and guests can serve themselves - well beyond breaskfast times. The hotel is central but fairly quite (slept very well X... More

Really enjoyed my stay in the central Aarhus hotel. Friendly staff, clean & tidy if a little on the small side rooms, excellent breakfast. Well located close to excellent restaurants. Quiet at night, comfortable bed, would definitely stay again on next visit to Aarhus.

I had a wonderful two nights staying here and really enjoyed the facilities. It feels very friendly but also comfortable, and in winter the heating was great so I was very warm. I had a four-poster twin bed (quite a curious idea, but actually quite comfortable) and a spacious room with plenty of storage. The safe in my room wouldn't... More

This is a delightfully quirky family run hotel with really helpful and friendly staff. Aarhus itself is a delight- very pretty, lots to do, and a great venue for a long weekend, but one we hear little about in the UK. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel- very central. The hotel keeps a constant supply of coffee, fruit, cookies, chocolate... More

Stayed just one night in this hotel and spent little time so slightly biased review but: Arrived on a Sunday, room not ready at 2 am and not even at 3 am. Was offered an alternative room though and checked in 3.30. Not a warm welcome, had to sit and wait in a room that appeared to be the breakfast... More

Dear RogerTheViking, we are very sad to hear about your experience with us. The rooms should of course be ready at 3 am. You can always write and call us before your stay - and tell us you want an early check in 2 am. All of our rooms are different furnished and different sizes. Some with posterbed, some with... More

We booked a superior double room and received room nr. 44 which faces the street interaction. What was meant to be a romantic and restful getaway from kids turned out to be a very long, noisy and restless night. The rooms do not have any air circulation. So on a summer night if you need air, then windows need to... More
