I had a wonderful two nights staying here and really enjoyed the facilities. It feels very friendly but also comfortable, and in winter the heating was great so I was very warm. I had a four-poster twin bed (quite a curious idea, but actually quite comfortable) and a spacious room with plenty of storage. The safe in my room wouldn't... More

This is a delightfully quirky family run hotel with really helpful and friendly staff. Aarhus itself is a delight- very pretty, lots to do, and a great venue for a long weekend, but one we hear little about in the UK. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel- very central. The hotel keeps a constant supply of coffee, fruit, cookies, chocolate... More

Stayed just one night in this hotel and spent little time so slightly biased review but: Arrived on a Sunday, room not ready at 2 am and not even at 3 am. Was offered an alternative room though and checked in 3.30. Not a warm welcome, had to sit and wait in a room that appeared to be the breakfast... More

Dear RogerTheViking, we are very sad to hear about your experience with us. The rooms should of course be ready at 3 am. You can always write and call us before your stay - and tell us you want an early check in 2 am. All of our rooms are different furnished and different sizes. Some with posterbed, some with... More

We booked a superior double room and received room nr. 44 which faces the street interaction. What was meant to be a romantic and restful getaway from kids turned out to be a very long, noisy and restless night. The rooms do not have any air circulation. So on a summer night if you need air, then windows need to... More

We chose Guldsmeden because we've previously stayed at Betrams Guldsmeden in Copenhagen a couple of times, so, being part of the same group of hotels, we expected the one in Aarhus to be up to the same standards. Unfortunately, that turned out to be not quite the case. Let's start with the (only) good thing: The hotel is conveniently located... More

I stayed in this hotel for a night. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. I loved the organic soaps and the simple but cozy atmosphere. The breakfast was also nice and those organic strawberries were awesome. An elevator is really needed as well as some tiling works (the floor was crackling at every step). In a nutshell:... More

Small but very nicely located near the most interesting areas of Aarhus. The staff at the hotel was extremely nice and helpful, breakfast very tasty and with wonderful organic bread. There is a restaurant attached to the hitel. The room was small and the place seems a little worn but nicely furnished.

A small hotel with smallish but nice rooms (and great bathrooms), fresh organic breakfasts in the courtyard (if the weather is good) and, above all, friendly and helpful staff. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the city's boho Latin Quarter full of cool cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, which may make your room a little noisy if... More

Room was quite basic, and the bathroom was tiny and outdated. The room looked like one of a monastery but the rooms are all different. The service is excellent in this little hotel and the breakfast cute and with organic products.

You would not expect this place to be so quiet as it is placed in the very centre of the second largest city in Denmark. But it is and it's working well on every level. Breakfast is delicious country style and the staff is friendly and helpful. But mind! When you cross the yard to the annex (in between the... More
