I stayed at the Scandic for one night. It's right next to a motorway, and the ride from Aalborg airport was not very long.
What is particular about this hotel.. it looks more like a converted school, or former Youth Hostel, there's no elevator (at least I didn't find one. Don't bring heavy luggage) but a rather spacious staircase.
The room had the distinct feel of a hostel, with 2 very narrow beds, and it was cold. For the price I'd never have expected it to be so shabby.
The Scandic seems to be frequented mostly by people who commute to the area for short term work in building trade etc - not for what I call "business trips" or holidays. Therefore I understand that I could not get a vegetarian sandwich or anything without meat when I arrived in the evening, and breakfast was oddly local, with liver and fish stuff that only danish people will eat.
Nice staff at the reception - very friendly local girls.
