The Mistral takes a little searching to find -- esp. coming off the hydrofoil ferry at the port. Fortunately, Hydra's main town is small and the locals are pretty helpful (so definitely ask for directions!) The hotel seems like an older mansion that was converted to a hotel, and it retains the homey feel. The furnishings, while old, were serviceable.... more

Hotel Mistral is a place where we always return with pleasure and with the feeling of being welcomed and treated like family. It is a very quiet, charming and elegant hotel situated very close to the harbor. The rooms are very clean and cosy, with all the comfort you need for a quiet and relaxing holiday. The staff is extremely... more

We stayed for 4 days in September 2009. The hotel is quiet and good located, rooms are simple, but clean and more than adequate. The lobby is quaint and cozy - but the breakfasts! Jenny and Theo put on personalized home-made breakfasts every day, with recepies from their grandmothers. All in all - stay at Mistral if you go to... more

We stayed at Hotel Mistral for about 10 days during September 2009. On of the best things: the breakfasts, served in the delightful shady outside courtyard, with local products and which were different every day. We will definitely come back again out of season to enjoy the peace and quiet and warm welcome from Jenny, Theo and the rest of... more

Fantastic hotel which deserves its top dog rating. Small hotel, tightly run, with Jenny and Theo proving to be charming hosts. Delicious breakfasts with homemade jam and cakes. more

The Mistral is a unforgetable hotel for us. If we could not go there ever year we are feeling ourselves in a big trouble. Hydra Island and Mistral Hotel are the best holiday points for us. The Hotel owners are wonderful people. They are ready to help for your every needs. The rooms of hotel are very comfortable and clean.... more

We stayed at Hotel Mistral for a week during September 2009, and found it to be comfortable, welcoming and well run. The owners were lovely, and we found their restaurant suggestions invaluable, as some places were quite touristy (i.e. overpriced). The hotel itself is small but well maintained, and our room had a balcony looking towards the harbour which was... more

Why have I returned to this hotel every single year, for what seems to have become almost 25 years? Because this is the place where I can find peace in mind. Both Hydra and hotel Mistral makes up the most pittorescue, calming picture I know about, mostly because of the wonderful hosts, Jenny and Theofilos Saitis. Of course the breakfast,... more

My wife and I enjoyed a wonerful stay at this hotel. The owners are very friendly, offering tips on things to do in town or restaurants to go to. Breakfast is served in the courtyard each morning and the items served change each day, which is a nice break from the usual cold meats, cheese and bread at most European... more

Hydra is a special place and within that the Mistral provides a relaxing, attentive home from home. Jenny, Theo and the staff are incredibly friendly, hospitable and no request is too much trouble. They provide you with gargantuan breakfasts in the morning in a beautiful, shady outside courtyard, setting you up for the rigours of the day ahead. The hotel... more
