We stayed here for 3 days in August,2014 and loved it. Not only was the location less than half a block from the port and where you get off the catamaran from Athens but it was secluded on a small alleyway that kept it absolutely private and quiet. The rooms are wonderfulwith new ACs. The owner and mgr, Peter, was... More

The hotel is clean and the air conditioning is very good. The bathroom is very small - can hardly swing a cat. Also, what I really did not like was that the bathroom door was at the kitchen sink. Otherwise it was pleasant and I would recommend it.

I wanted A/C, good internet, friendliness, cleanliness. All present plus more. In fact, my wife completed successfully two 2 hour Skype teleconferences. There is a little kitchen that allows you to prepare breakfast. A nice bakery is close by with fresh goods that you can buy for next morning. The four levels at the back are very charming. The fourth... More

The bustling harbor scene is Hydra's main attraction, and just 30 seconds off the harbor is the entrance to this peaceful little haven. It has so much going for it: unbeatable location, comfortable rooms, great design/decor, a multi-level patio that includes a jacuzzi, a kitchenette (with basic utensils), decent in-room wifi, and helpful staff. It's small and unique--only four guest... More

We stayed 6 nights in Portadelmare. The guest house is very well located, just around the corner from the port, the supermarkets, the wonderful cafes. However, the steps up to the guest house are very steep and it was difficult carrying up the suitcases. The room décor was lovely, but there are some drawbacks to the fancy touches. The main... We live in Dubai , and came to hydra for a few days. The guesthouse was amazing! Very cool interior design and amazing cool terraces on different levels with a jacuzzi and a view of the port! We highly recommend. And overall hydra was an very pretty cozy island with cool rock beaches and cafes. Loved the island, loved the... More

We stayed 4 nights, and appreciated the quality accommodations. The owner, Petros, took great care in constructing the four units, and ours was very charming and comfortable. The units are quiet, despite being close to the port which is lined with cafes. Hydra is a beautiful island which does not allow automobiles, so walking, water taxis, and donkeys are the... More

These clients unfortunately did not arrive for the first night of their stay and as per my terms and conditions of non-arrival, I did not offer a refund as it was high season and I kept the room for them when I could have filled it. My website very clearly states that I do not serve breakfast because we have... More

Returning to Hydra is always special, because this is just such a beautiful island...but what makes it so special is returning to Porta del Mare. The rooms are very clean, and modern, beds are super comfy, equipped with flat screen tvs and dvds with movies and most important the location is perfect!! I returned with my husband and kids and... I was in Hydra for the first time two weeks ago and I truly loved it. Not only is the island a beautiful and charming place, Petros and his wife at Porta del Mare truly made a difference in our stay. I HIGHLY recommend to stay here. The rooms are perfectly appointed, very clean and modern and the personalized service... More
