Definitely it’s not a 4 star luxurious hotel. We have stayed there a couple of times in the past since its location is very convenient especially if you need a stopover on your way to the port of Patra. The lobby area has been renovated but the rooms (especially the bathrooms) need upgrading. They are clean though…the breakfast is just... More

[I'll try... I recently stayed at the Porto Rio Hotel & Casino in Rio next to Patras while on a business trip. The lobby of the hotel was fairly decent but the rooms however were abominable for a 5 star hotel! The stench of the room and from wardrobe was herrendous. There were huge stains on the carpet, the hooks in the... More

I don't recommend this place to any one. The worst place to stay ever....Stayed there with my family in July 2011 for a week and got robbed in our own room and lost all our valuables. To our surprise, we found out that within that week of our stay a few more rooms were broken in.. The worst of all was... More

Stayed there for 2 nights. The public areas are ok, but the rooms need a renovation asap. The location is nice, next to the sea, very close to Patras and Nafpaktos, although a visit to Nafpaktos will cost you a lot, since you will have to pay 25 euro just to cross the bridge of Rio (round trip). It is... More

Stayed in the beach bungalows which weren't fabulous, but provided the basics. As others have said a renovation is needed, but it is cheap and the location, pools, park and views make up for it. The beach side bar has good Greek food for lunch and the pools are hard to beat. Breakfast is massive, again overlooking that water and... More

I have been to this hotel several times in the past. The location is very good, convenient for business in Patras or short breaks on the beach. It offers a magnificent view to the Rio Bridge. The lobby has been recently renovated in black-white neo-baroque tones. However, the rooms are dated and need renovation urgently. They are very small, the... More

I stay here almost every month. Hotel is in an urgent need of renovation. Rooms are updated but clean and sometimes (depends on the wind as I have been told) the wc smells bad. On the other hand, prices are rather cheap, parking is free, wireless internet is also free (not so strong signal unfortunately, but I always do my... More

I stayed at the Porto rio hotel for 3 weeks with my wife and 3kids during the summer of 2011 in a suite. The room was outdated but large for Greek standards at around 600 sq feet. There was a pool and sea view. The room was clean and had everything that we needed. The location Of this hotel is... More
