We wanted a hotel that is close to the Patras' city center but is not very expensive. I have found the Astir hotel : decent, clean, steps away from city's center and in an area that you can find (if you are lucky) parking too ! Even if it's not recently renovated, it keeps an old charm. We had room... More

Terrible hotel! We booked in for 5 days in Patra but hotel was so run down and old we couldn't stay for even 1 night!! Man at reception was very unfriendly and made us pay for the 1 night even though what was advertised on the Internet and reality were 2 different scenarios. Disgusted!!

Technology is not quite what it should be at the reception, and I had to wait a while, but otherwise the staff were extremely hgelpful and frriendly, the breakfastsa were excellent, the rooms were spacious and silent, and with quite a view onto the port. I needed a room unexpectedly, and was welcomed. The building may be showing signs of... More

Visited Patras in June foe family reasons. We stayed at the Astir for one night. We liked: rooms are very spacious with large bathrooms with full bathtubs. there is a small pool at the top with nice view of the port. Staff is friendly and smiling. Breakfast offered a big buffet with many choices. Location is very central! What they... More

We had 3 nights stay in Astir during May. The room (1 twin) was very nice with view to the harbour. The hotel is a bit dated but the facilities are nice. Big rooms, bathroom, tv, balcony. Also the breakfast was very good. The most important is the location! The hotel is in the heart of the action but also... More

Room was really run down and old. Bathroom not to hygienic shower head full of yuck on the inside. Shower curtain mouldy. Booked for a room with mountain views and we got views of a run down abandoned building and the hotel balcony. Bed was very uncomfortable. Not a good experience. Would not go back

It is an old building in the down town center of Patras. This is our first stay in Astir hotel. Old fashion rooms with old furnitures but very clean and tidy. The bath room also is old fashion but very clean, the hot water is always available in our room. You go into your room you see the marvelous sea view of Patraikos... More

Not a nice hotel. Very old fashioned, nothing changed since the 70's! Old itchy blankets, lumpy pillows, cheap sheets, tv bigger than the fridge. No hot water so couldn't shower. Only one pillow per bed and no spares in cupboard. Very noisy if in a front room, train and road noise. It's a shame as it has so much potential.

The Astir must once have been quite something. Everything in the hotel speaks of grandeur and lavishness. Just a pity that this hotel has clearly seen better days and although everything is neat and clean, there's evidence of this hotel's need of maintenance and refurbishment everywhere you look. Still, spectacular view of the harbour and proximity to the bustle of... More
