We just returned from a 2 weeks vacation in Semantron hotel. This hotel is unique. It is the former farm from the Mega Spilion monastery. The buildings are the original ones fully renovated to hotel rooms. The rooms are cosy, with much ambiente and also modern comfort. Excellent beds with the choice between 2 pillows (goose feather and synthetic). We... More

Well, sadly enough... this year, we didn't had such a good experience @Semantron... First I didn't like to write about it, because I think it @ to do with the current situation in Greece...but on the other hand, I feel that TA is all about experience so...here it goes... Visited Semantron July 2012... Totally different experience than last year!!! Although... More

There is perhaps some tension between price and offer, but overall it is a nice place to be. Greece economic problems are obviously there, but within the maximum possibilities they have, most of the staff is making you a nice stay. We are coming back for sure!

The last review over this hotel is dated almost a year ago, and that could be the explanation to our huge disappointment – something went very wrong there. I'll make it short: 1. Our reservation was for "a room with a balcony". Since we didn't get one the receptionist response was: "the room with the balcony is occupied and the... More

We spent a week here on half board which was worth it for trying different foods, plentiful breakfasts and great buffets at night. Staff were so friendly as soon as we arrived - Petros, Sophia and team helped us learn Greek and were attentive to our every need. We like places where we don't meet other Brits - there certainly... Well I think, that my tittle say's it all... My wife and I, stayed here for 3 day's end of June 2011. A bit as a surprise, coz we had to alter our holiday, due to the Ferry strike who was going on @that moment. Looking around on the net, I found this GEM!!!!! It was like "love @ first... More

I travelled to the Semantron while touring the Pelopennese Wine country. The Village is a bit to get to, but once there a relaxing oasis. The rooms are sparse and functional, beautiful buildings and very clean. My room looked towards the sunrise in the morning, and walked out onto a large balcony. The grounds themselves are gorgeous. An olive grove,... More

We were welcomed by the lady of the house and just her remark "we are here for you"' made our day. The village is a former part of a monastery where the monks used to make there olive oil and orange marmalade. The mill and presses are still there. The rooms are in several buildings on the premises and most... More

The term "Semantron"is derived from the acoustic object that substitutes for a bell in monasteries. The Semantron produces the sound that signals the call to prayer. Monks of Mega Spilaion constructed an agricultural community on the site of the current Semantron Traditional Hotel centuries ago in the 1840's; here oranges and olives were cultivated and harvested. The produce helped create... More
