The joy of this hotel is to an extent what it does not have. It is quiet, welcoming and when you stay you feel part of the ambience. We are elderly and do not want nightlife. The staff were lovely; it was like staying with very old and undemanding friends. more

A product or service has to be exceptionally good or exceptionally bad to get me to put "pen to paper" - I normally content myself with voting with my feet! There is certainly nothing ordinary about "Crazy Votsala" (as Iannis the owner himself calls it). It is exceptionally good at delivering exactly what it offers on its website, so -... more

We reviewed the websites of all of the hotels on Lesbos that were recommended in the two Greek Islands travel books we bought, and we settled on the Hotel Votsala because the website promised to offer a lot of support for travelers unfamiliar with Lesbos. The website was completely accurate, and we are so glad that we were able to... more

I loved this hotel and want to go back soon. The staff were lovely and the ambiance relaxed. Breakfast is serve yourself style and there are tables outside by the sea or inside with pleasant classical music. My girlfriend was unimpressed by the basic bathroom and lack of a/c but it was fine for me, the wind blew off the... more

I give the Votsala Hotel a ten out of twelve. Was it the delicious Greek yogurt served at the scrumptious morning buffet, the superb staff or the home-style ambience that made my seven-week stay on Lesvos one of the best trips ever? The scenery was exquisite, the Votsala rooms immaculate and I felt like a member of the family by... more

There can be few more relaxing and laid-back hotels in the World. The Votsala is not grand but it is the place to totally chill out and relax. The facilities are all one needs, the rooms and grounds are well maintained. The team of staff provide wonderful service and the local area is beautiful. The hotel's website tells the absolute... more

The Votsala owners and staff are the friendliest of any hotel I've visited, anywhere. Others who have stayed here clearly agree, since it has a large number of regular guests who return each year. The hotel's website is very informative and worth checking out. The Votsala is the antithesis of flashy nouveau-luxe; the rooms have the feel of simple summer... more

This was one of the most peaceful places ever. It was just as described in the web site and other review. Fruit trees with fruit for the picking, gorgeous views, beautiful calm water -- no real beach at the hotel but a dock for swimming and boats to take out. We had booked for two nights but stayed for five.... more

Mytiline -the capital of Lesbso- is a busy and traffic ridden city with poor air quality - but just 10k away is the town of Pyrgi Thermis and the family run Hotel Votsala. Votsala is on the Agean and the grounds are filled with aromatics - roses and honeysuckle mixed with sea breeze - it is a world away from... more
