This was an incredible magical experience, almost travelling into an era of ultimate splendor. The restoration was carefully done and service was impeccable, the rooms were beyond luxury reflecting some older traditions like washing your feet before getting to bed. All the amenities were thought after and most of the products in the rooms were brand names. Once we checked... More

The location of the place is amazing. They have to improve the food and be more respectfull to their customers. When they served us the one of the two main courses the food was cold and stale. The only good thing from this dinner night it was the location of the restaurant and the city view.

I had more expectations! At a historical and so luxurious place restaurant should have a very active role! And food should be more respectful! It really needs a lot of hard work and much of imagination of behalf of the chef!!!! Food does not look or taste interesting at all

This renovated 1817 structure was built by Mehmet Ali, a local boy made good, as a token of affection for his place of birth. And he made good indeed, by becoming the ruler of Egypt and establishing a dynasty that lasted until the 1950s, when Nasser overthrew the Egyptian monarchy. The complex was originally a philanthropy establishment (Imaret means “poorhouse”... More

On two successive evenings I enjoyed a pre-dinner drink on the lovely terrace. Beautiful views, lovely service in this historic terrace. Such a lovely place to discover by chance as I walked down the hill!

The most amazing historical building transformed into a luxury hotel. Don’t miss the introduction and tour of the building by Konstantine (the manager of the hotel). Excellent service. Very polite and competent personnel. Bathing-relaxing in the closed cistern is a must. The entire building becomes very photogenic the late afternoon hours. Excellent location and views of the city, lots of... More

No service. Bad attitude. Such a disappointment! All we wanted was 3 days of pampering using the spa and other facilities.. Spa closed on a Sunday. No room service. Forget food on a Sunday. The only thing worth it is the Turkish baths. If u get them to cook for you it's not bad.

We visited Imaret for a 4-day Christmas break. I'd heard a lot of things about this place and have always wanted to visit but it hadn't been possible until now. Despite the long trip, flight to Thessaloniki from Athens & then a 2 hour drive to Kavala, the welcoming drink and the warmth of their hospitality was enough to make... More
