I have stayed in more than one hotel in Patmos, and Blue Bay is my new favorite. It is tucked just around the corner from the main center of Akaka, so everything is easily accessible, yet the location is quieter and has a beautiful view. Having coffee on the terrace every morning was the perfect way to start each day,... More

The view and the location are unbeatable, but the facilities are nothing less than poor. Our room was tiny and the bathroom was horrendous. I don't think it has been updated for a couple decades at least. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, however. The balcony was dirty but the view made up for it. The breakfast was stale bread, old... More

The Blue Bay was not what we had expected from the reviews, particularly Lonely Planet. It is pretty basic and our room was clean but bare. However, the view from the terrace is sensational, looking over the entrance to the harbour. Sitting there in the evening was heavenly. The hotel is a few hundred metres uphill from where the ferry... More

Nice and clean hotel close to the island's centre. Staff is very friendly and they give good recommendations on where to go and swim and eat. Rooms with a view are much better. Good value for the money. The breakfast buffet was charming and surprisingly very good. A sweet and funny little Albanian lady prepares it. She is delightful to... More

Basic hotel and breakfast and a bit uncomfortable bed. Make sure you get a room with a front view since it's great! Very friendly owners and staff - i loved the lady who was making breakfast, she was a sweet heart. Cannot beat the location. Overall it's a basic clean hotel, with friendly owners, great view and location.

wonderful stay at the blue bay hotel. i arrived on the overnight ferry from Athens, landing at Patmos in early hours of the morning, still dark and raining to find the hotel owner had come by car to pick me up. the owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. there was information near reception about bus schedules and places... I chose this hotel simply because of the price. I'm well traveled and very flexible about accommodations but this hotel just didn't deserve the raving reviews in my opinion. True, the hotel has a nice view. Location is near the port, maybe about a 5-minute walk, but it's an uphill walk along the highway. It's not ideal for the elderly,... More

The hotel is in a nice position but you have to be lucky to get tha sea view, otherwise.... The first (triple) room we were given was horrible, small, awfully furnished, no view, and with a terrible bathroom. The following day they changed it into a much better one. But if the view and the space were there, the cleaningness... More

A gorgeous hotel and a beautiful view in the middle of town.....within walking distance of everything you would need for a visit to Patmos. I would highly reccommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to the beautiful island of Patmos. I have heard only excellent things about this hotel as well from close friends who have spent their time... More

I went with a group of 26 people for a vacation and tour. Patmos island was one of them. The day before, we rode a ferry and it was an hour postponed because there was a fake bomb/explosive material report. Then, after departing Athens at around 8:00 we arrived to Patmos at around 3:00 am. Definitely, we were all tired... More
