This was our first time on beautiful island Astypalaia, but surly it won’t be the last. We were so lucky to choose Tholaria boutique hotel. Mike, Maria and whole Mariakis team made us feel very welcome from the first moment at the airport (we were greeted by Mike) till the day when we unfortunately had to say goodbye to Tholaria... We went to Astypalaia mid-July and one of the reasons to choose this island was to stay in Tholaria! Thankfully, the hotel didnt' disappoint us at all! We stayed in suite Aegeo, which is smaller than the other rooms but we loved it: excellent decoration, great view and absolutely quiet. The breakfast is splendid and most of all the owners,... More

It was our second summer holiday here and both times were just perfect. Rooms are nice and clean, breakfast is home made and every day there is something different. The owner is very friendly and nice. The only negative thing is the last they when we had to check out from summer wonderland.

There are some rough old places in the islands calling themselves boutique hotels, but Tholaria is the genuine article, with its nine rooms scattered along a maze of flower-festooned staircases which follow the hill down to the swimming pool at the bottom. This family-run hotel is impressive for the care and attention to detail which has evidently gone into its... More

We arrived on Astypalaia at 5.00 am after a 5 hour ferry trip. The hotel willingly arranged for someone to meet us at the port. This is a very well presented boutique hotel with friendly staff. The breakfasts are very good although served in a small room. The bedrooms are very traditional - the bed is 4 steps up to... More

My wife and I stayed at the Tholaria for one week in June for our honeymoon and had an absolutely perfect time. Astypalea is a beautiful Greek Island - which lives up it's reputation of having unspoilt natural beauty. When we arrived on the small plane from Athens, we were greeted at the airport by the manager, Mike, who speaks... More

My husband and I stayed at the Tholaria for 4 nights early June 2015. We enjoyed the whole experience, from the greeting by one of the owners at the airport to the spaciousness and cleanliness of our room. A truly wonderful experience, thoroughly recommend it!

Out of all the islands in Greece and the plethora of accommodation, my wife choose Astypalaia. It is the most wonderful, beautiful and peaceful destination. On top of that she choose the best accommodation on Astipalaia. Although this hotel official rating is only two stars, it is a five star stay. We resided at the Tholaria boutique hotel for two... I chose this family-run hotel to celebrate our anniversary (hard choice since Astypalaia has many beautiful small hotels) and I know now that I made the perfect choice! Number one for location (situated between Chora and Livadi beach, both walkable), for romantic stay (couples will enjoy the open-air jacuzzi at the spa suites) and also for families (large family suites... We stayed as a couple for a week.we stayed in the aegio suite and the Armeno suite for last two days. Both were amazing the aegio has the iconic pool overlooking the sea and castle whereas the Armeno was a much more spacious suite. Both well looked after and well furnished. The staff were very attentive and would help at... More
