unless you're facing the sea (70+ euros), the rooms have only a small window, and feels very closed in. they are approximately 2.5 meters x 7 meters, with little light and somewhat depressing. the photos on this site is deceiving because they face the sea, and appears to have an amazing view, which didn't turn out to be my experience.

We went to the Greek Islands for our honeymoon the second week of August. It was the busy season to be in the Greek Islands. Our 2nd Island was the beautiful island of Folegandros, and we stayed at the Hotel Kastro. We were a little skeptical at first knowing that they offered "natural" air condition in the heat of August.... More

We stayed there for about a week, which is too long for the island in general. Was it the hotel? Was it the overall atmopshere on the island wihch is very money oriented? In any case, we found the hotel quite expensive for the services it offers. The only real reason to pay extra is the view, really impressive, but... More

Folegandros is one of the most beautiful places on Earth and Hotel Castro is certainly the most impressive hotel I have experienced. Carefully renovated room (which apart from the fridge must be almost the same as 500 years ago) in the heart of the old Castro has the most spectacular view of the huge cliff and the wild sea bellow.... If you are looking for amenities like swimming pool or big rooms and huge bathrooms this is not the hotel for you. Castro is a simple cozy place in the old castro; some rooms have a huge view and the common terrace offer a unique panorama. Ms Dalmassi, the owner, will help you to discover the island and its beauty.

This hotel has three things going for it: a five-star location, in the heart of the old walled town, which is incredibly picturesque and incredibly convenient (five minutes on foot to everywhere); spectacular views over the Aegean and the island (because it is perched on a cliff-top); and, above all, the owner - Mrs Danassi. I have never met a... More

I stayed at the Hotel Castro on the amazing island of Folegandros. I was travelling with 2 friends. Folegandros was one of my favorite finds of all time. I hesitate to even tell people about it for fear it will become just another hot tourist destination. Hotel Castro was conveniently located in the center of town, but had breathtaking views... More
