we have just returned from a 10 day holiday in Crete based in the medieval historic city of Rethymnon, staying at the conveniently located Palazzo Vecchio. On arrival we were impressed with the character and decor of this 15th century building, whilst receiving a warm welcome and a glass of local Raki, by Irini. Our maisonette room was tastefully decorated,... More

We are reluctant to write this review as it will only add to the other glowing reports on this hotel and make it more difficult to get a reservation!! We were here last year and Angela and Eirini made our stay at the Palazzo memorable, we never go any where twice, so to go back again one year on, says... More

We visited rethmynon in June staying at the Palazzo Vecchio. Our room was spread over two floors and beautifully decorated and furnished. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding changed at least every other day. Fresh towels were provided every day and well cleaned every day. Breakfast was ample and was replenished whenever it was running low. The staff... More

We enjoyed everything about our stay. The pool picture is deceptive, as it is a very small pool. The wifi was weak (though that was somewhat common in Crete and Greece). A very nice stay that is easy to recommend.

Absolutely chuffed to bits with our choice of hotel. Situated in an ideal part of the Old town meaning we were centrally located for everything we required, Beaches, Restaurants, shops etc...Hotel staff were wonderful, extremely helpful and friendly. Room was very clean and comfortable with plenty of space.

Excellent hotel. Lovely, well renovated old building with spacious, comfortable rooms, very good breakfasts and brilliant staff. The location is perfect - close enough to the bus station, in a very quiet spot, handy for good restuarants and the centre of the old town. Stayed for one week in April. Had a junior suite, which had a useful kitchenette. Nice... More

My two teenagers and I spent one week mi april in this beautiful place. It was just perfect. We had a charming large room, with a kitchen and a bathroom. The place is quiet and very well located. You can join any place of the city by foot very easily. And no worries to get lost, Angela and Eirini are... More

My wife and I stayed at the Palazzo Vecchio for two weeks in April and enjoyed it immensely. We had a warm welcome from the manager and her staff who couldn't have been more helpful. We had a very spacious junior suite on the second floor with a bedroom area, a lounge and kitchen area and big bathroom. We had... More

Whilst Palazzo Vecchio may not be in quite the same category of luxury as some of its more expensive competitors, this was easily the best experience I've had as a hotel guest for a considerable time. The hotel building is small, intimate and feels authentically Greek. The building has a nice atmospheric character to it, and it is in an... More

We stayed here a week last April and we enjoyed the location (central, inside the old town but very quiet), the service (Angela and her staff were welcoming and they give us a lot of tips for exploring the island), the room (our suite was large, well furnished and with a view to the fortress wall) and the breakfast. I... More
