We have travelled around te globe at various times independantly and as a package ,you never know how the holiday will turn out ! However this hotel was everything we had hoped for , not too noisey beautiful gardens with all the plants and trees with the names sign posted. It was heaven to stroll round the grounds at night and... more

Just returned from the wonderful Rithymna Beach Hotel. Booked with Thompson for 12 nights. We were family of 3 adults and a 12yr old. After landing at Heraklion we were quickly on our coach which was nicely air conditioned and off to our hotel, fab scenery on way but driver very erratic , quite often one handed because he was on... more

Fab hotel, very luxurious. Staff so friendly and helpful. Rooms great, although we did pay for an upgrade as we wanted a sea view. Not all rooms have a sea view. Food very good indeed, drinks a bit pricey but fridges in all rooms so you can buy your own. We went for our honeymoon and were very happy. No... more

Our first impression of this hotel when greeted at gone midnight with a lovely cool drink of fresh orange and a late date buffet (we were too tired for that!) was wow. On arrival in our room we were greeted with fresh flowers, bottle of wine on ice , basket of fruit and a much needed bottle of water. Luggage... more

Having seen pictures of the hotel's attractive gardens on the web, we booked a room with 'garden view'. Big Mistake! The garden you have a view of is 90% car park, with the road beyond it. To call it 'garden view' is serious misrepresentation. Our attempts to discuss this with the reception desk met with blank stares and an extremely... more

Despite some negative remarks in earlier TA reviews, we decided to book a week's holiday at the Rithymna Beach Hotel and certainly had no regrets. The hotel is not the most modern but the buildings and rooms are spacious, well designed and clean. The gardens in particular are a great feature. Most of the guests are German but it always... more

I have travelled around the world staying mostly at 5* hotels. This definately isn't one of them.In fact I have stayed in better 4*. The hotel could do with extensive refurbishment as it is looking old and very tired! The rooms are clean and on the plus side have the fridge. There are also worn out bathrobes and when we... more

We have just returned from 2 weeks staying at the fantastic Rithymna Beach Hotel. From day one we wanted for nothing, the staff are there at all times to answer your every question and sort any problems that arise, if any. The resort allows you to make your holiday as active or lazy as you wish, with well planned trips... more

A lovely hotel well worth its 5 star rating. All the public areas are kept immaculate, the staff are professional and the service second to none. On arrival you are greeted with a welcome glass of fresh orange then when you get to the room find wine on ice, fresh flowers in a vase, basket of fruit and complimentary bathrobe.... more

We (hubby, myself and 2 kids aged 6 and 3), had a great holiday here. The pools are clean and have lots of sun beds, the beach whilst pebbly in parts was clean and has ablue flag (some days the waves were too strong for the kids, but on calm days it was fine) and the water sports were great... more
