The hotel is in a great location close to the shops, old town and harbour, with plenty of bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk. The rooms were lovely, lots of character and spotlessly clean. There was everything you needed-free reliable wifi, A/C, cooker, washing machine, juicer, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, hair dryer, mosquito plug ins, tea, coffee, herbs... More

My husband and I are travelling for 9 weeks and we have been staying in a lot of hotels. This one is right up there in terms of value for money and a really great experience. Perfectly located in the Old Town of Rethymno, Crete, with a host who goes a very long way out of his way to ensure... More

This small traditional hotel is in a perfect location for the old town, restaurants, bars, shops and harbour. The beach a short walk away. Yannis and hhis wife made us very welcome a home from home. Fruit and wine to welcome us and water all through the holiday. Nothing to much trouble absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much for making our holiday really... More

The best in class! We had unforgettable 2 night stay at Yannis place in September. It was truly exceptional experience in many ways. He is Professor of Hospitality (φιλοξενία in Greek). Not only he treated us as his close friends, but also provided us with many extras. We learned a lot from him about the place, the town, the country... More

This is one of the best places we have ever stayed. The hotel is perfectly situated in the old town just a few mins walk from bars, restaurants, fortezza, harbour and 5 mins walk to a sandy beach. The owner Yiannis and his wife are so welcoming and Yiannis speaks very good English. After a very stressful few months this... More

From start to finish , unfortunately only one night , Yannis made our stay a delight. The room was great and service impeccable, all for a very reasonable price. Generous and helpful, Yannis could not do enough to make our stay more memorable . We are a family of 4 and the split level room was terrific. Arriving very late... More

We have just returned from another 2 week stay at Afroditi Hotel in Rethymnon. This was our third stay and to be honest it just felt like coming home. Yannis and Irini are the perfect hosts and cannot do enough for their guests. We have already booked for next year!! If you need any advice or other information then Yannis... More

We stayed (two couples) here for four nights. The reviews are understandable and not overplayed, the owner has thought of everything and is incredibly friendly and hospitable. Rooms are in good condition, wifi is excellent and it's in an excellent location. Basically if you're in town, stay here.

I stayed at Afroditi for 5 nights with my fiance. Our room was a serviced apartment with working kitchen (perfect if you want a break from restaurants!) and a washing machine which really comes in handy. The location is just off one of the main drags of Old town Rethymnon and an easy walk to many restaurants, bars, main sights... More

My only regret about the Afroditi hotel is that we didn't stay for longer! One night was not enough. The situation was perfect- close to the centre of the old town and the harbour and beaches. The room we had was well equipped and spacious. And the welcome from Gianni, the owner, was wonderful. Water, fruit and a bottle of wine... More
