I stayed in Kastro two years ago, and honestly it was not memorable. However, this time I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel has been redone elegantly and aiming to please travellers. The rooms are comfortable with brand new beds and duvets and options of pillows. The bathroom are well lit (great mirror for makeup) and modern, The only thing I... More

This conveniently located hotel has steep entry steps and should be avoided by anyone handicapped or elderly. The surrounding sidewalks (such as they are) are truly impossible and dangerous by night or in the rain. The rooms are comfortable and pleasant enough. Elevator access available. Our room had no view at all so kept the window shuttered. Missing was an... More

This hotel is billed as 3 stars but there are 4 star hotels which are worse than this delightful place. Best thing about this hotel was the rate (47 euros/ night). As we anticipated a two week stay, the rate mattered. This rate was available during December 2014 (off peak). The room was modern, bright, in a good state of... More

The room was modern and clean. The bed and the pillow were very confortable. The staff was friendly. Good breakfast. The price is very reasonable. It was a bit difficult to find the hotel. Nearby there´s a parking where we can leave the car for 6 € by day.

Just a few blocks from the waterfront and main pedestrian area with all its amenities, the Kastro Hotel is a funky, modern, comfortable and well appointed place to stay in Heraklion. Rooms are clean, decent sized and tidy. Breakfast has a good selection including all the ingredients (and the recipe) for yummy Cretan dakos - tomato, cheese and olive on... More

Great location about 15 minutes walk from the main bus station & about 10 minutes by taxi to the airport. Very close to the main town square & many cafes around .Especially enjoyed walking through the streets with many wonderful shops & restaurants.Loved the rain showers , really relaxing after a long day of sightseeing.

Parking was not easy but once there the highlights were in walking distance. The hotel room was modern and w/o decoration. Breakfast was disappointing and the room wasvery cramped. I enjoyed looking through the book swap.

Everything is new and modern, up to the fact that you have a clothes iron and ironing board in the closet. It is a clean hotel, quiet and the staff is very helpful. The receptionist help me for 20 minutes to get out of a parking while I was blocked.

The hotel is well located for visiting Heraklion and offers all the facilities that a traveller may need. Rooms are all different but well fitted out in a modern style. There is a small roof area for sitting out to enjoy a quiet moment after a hectic day sightseeing. A great breakfast buffet is provided albeit that the tables are... More

We stayed in Kastro Hotel in October, 2014, and we absolutely enjoyed our stay. The reception service was competent, polite and relaxed. The room was neat and clean, with good beds, air condition (that worked), TV, and a nice bathroom. The breakfast was very decent, with Greek as well as international dishes. If we add the brilliant location, virtually in... More
