59 eur for a double room with breakfast (nothing special-just the beatiful view) is a good price.location OK, you reach by walk the old city, but still alone I woul call a taxi to go there.Rooms are big, renovated (still a had a feeling it was in 2000) but so noisy, that it is not possibile to sleep!!!!!!!! The bathroom... More

I was with a group and they were expecting us however upon entry to the hotel we were not warmly greeted. The receptionist was extremely rude to all of us. As the tour leader I kept trying to take over and expedite the check in process but she did wanted to delay things and was in nom way helpful, There... More

Good value hotel. 15 min walk from the port and less to the key museums. My rooms was clean, comfortable and quiet but was very dated. They are renovating though so I know some of the rooms have already been updated. Friendly staff on reception. The key plus is the restaurant - located on the rook (5th floor) with great... More

This place is a basic city hotel, not too far from the port by taxi. However, you can walk to the centre of town easily. The single room was tiny and a bit depressing. When I complained about it and the fact the air conditioner didn't work I was moved to a better room without extra charge. The best thing... More

Very efficient and helpful manager. Friendly staff. Rooms basic, but sleep well. Good value. Fantastic restaurant, but wait could be long. the restaurant os on the top floor with a fantastic terrace were to relax whilst waiting for your food. Nice breakfast. Luggage holder room. Taxi rank opposite the hotel. Central.

We stayed there for one night and used this hotel as a starting point to visit Heraklion town and Knossos Palace before exploring the rest of the island. Breakfast is equal to a 4 star hotel, great variety! Astonishing views from the top floor. Very polite and helpful staff. Central location. Thoroughly enjoyed the offer (included in the room rate)... Apart from the great location, if someone wishes to be close to the heart of a town, with a view combining a bustling heraklion & the sea harbour, i cannot think of any other atributes of this hotel. Refurbishing etc was going on, making my mornings start with a hammer sound at ungodly hrs. The service and breakfast was poor... More

We stopped here only one night, as we where catching a flight back to Italy from Crete after island hopping for about 2 weeks. Heraklion itself hasn't much to offer and is a bit of a let-down, especially if comparing with other islands port bases. We where considering the option of finding accomodation close to the port thus saving the... More

Our room faced the busy road and we heard people/traffic throughout the night. The "double bed" was two single beds pushed together, and kept slipping apart. One small, thin pillow per bed. Blankets with cigarette burns. Inadequate shower curtain that allowed water to spray the bathroom. The quality of the food for breakfast was poor. The only redeeming feature of... More

We stayed at Castello City Hotel for a week. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was simple but very clean and perfectly adequate. We would've preferred to have a shower with fixed sides rather than the plastic shower curtain but we're not complaining because the rates were so reasonable.... More
