The location is great, the room had a great view over the port and the hotel is very nice. I called one day before to ask the best way to get there, the lady on the phone recommended me to take a privat taxi from the port. When picked up I found out the hotel was ca. 300Mts from the... More

Stayed for two nights, we arrived at night from Santorini by ferry. It is walking distance from the port station. At the reception, we were upgraded to a beautiful port view room with an AMAZING bathroom! It had TV!! Nice walking path to the city centre with nightlife, restaurants and shops. In front of the hotel there is a bus... More

Unless you are prepared to dish out a couple of hundred euros additionally (to get a port facing, rather than a city facing room), be prepared to listen to loud and obnoxious Diamonds and Pearls drunks and patrons (your friendly local sleaze joint, located directly across the street out back...). This strip club plays its music (imagine a techno-pop-balkan turbo... More

Positives - excellent customer service (especially at front desk), generously appointed rooms, central location Negatives - room floor was filthy under bed (had to retrieve dropped keys and was disgusted by what I saw/felt), a thin top mattress on top of two single bed frames cannot be called a king/queen bed (uncomfortable and ever widening gap in middle of sleeping... Stayed for two nights last year. Can't wait to return. Luxury! Upgraded at reception to a beautiful room, massive bed, great location, beautiful pool, lovely staff! We will be back one day, my partner and I had a fantastic stay! Can't recommend highly enough.

This hotel is situated next door to the bus station and overlooks the harbour. It is in the style of a large international business hotel but the service was very friendly and it didn’t have the impersonal feel that those hotels often have. Our room was in the corner with balconies overlooking the harbour, very roomy with a comfortable bed... More

Megaron in Greeks means a big impressive building and this hotel deserves its title. The location is amazing in the heart of Heraklion city and the pedestrian area where life is on. Nice spacious room and good quality of food. Very helpful staff. Prices higher than normal hotels in the city but as I mentioned "Megaron" means ....impression :-)

Upon our trip to Athens, Crete and Santorini, even though all the hotels were wonderful the Megaron in Crete stood out as outstanding. This grand hotel faces the port and we were lucky to get a corner room. The main bedroom had a balcony over looking the sea and the bathroom, had a patio as well that faced the city... More

This hotel does not deliver value for money. Said to be one of the finest in Heraklion, the hotel was really just OK in terms of comfort and breakfast - which is disappointing given the price abs reputation. What probably decreased its appeal in our eyes even more was the fact that we could hear the music playing in the... More

We were greeted at Reception with the welcome news that we had been upgraded to a room with a view of the port. Check-in was swift and friendly and we were taken to our room where we were shown how everything worked. All the staff that we encountered, from housekeeping to the restaurant to the front desk, seemed happy and... More
