We picked this hotel looking for an authentic Cretan experience and were overwhelmed by the beauty of the place and the warmth of the people at Arolithos. The hotel is part of a reconstruction of a Cretan village on a hill 15mins by car from the centre of Heraklion. The village is in immersion with nature surrounded by olive trees.... More

We came to this village as part of a shore excursion from our ship. This lovely village was created in 1988, but is traditional in every way We enjoyed a lovely lunch and traditional Greek dancing. I loved the colors of the homes and the friendly people.I would advise you that it is quite a hike up the hill to... More

This is a quit place, no all-inclusive people, very traditional and super to relax. I wanted and got days to feel good, to read, to have an inspiring environment. Personal are extremely helpful and ask what they can do. It looks like an old village and is full of flowers and trees. Everything bloomed. There is a small, interesting museum... More

We were on a cruise shore excursion and had a wonderful meal with traditional dancing at this village. We also enjoyed a short tour of the homes. Did not get enough time to see the shops and workshops. Clearly need to come back to get the whole experience.

We stay there for 4 days for vacation and to combine a friend’s wedding. A couple of mobile phones were stolen and the hotel basically told us that it was our fault…… The food at the restaurant was really bad and the rooms have very small windows and without any change of sunlight. In case you are traveling with heavy... More

We visited this unique place as a shore excursion from a cruise so were only there for a few hours but what wonderful hours they were. We had spent the morning touring the palace so were tired and thirsty. We were met in the main party plaza with ice cold water and raki for those brave enough to try it.... More

Arolithos Traditional Cretan Village is more like a very cute village than a hotel. With individual "bungalows" it offered us two bedrooms and a small bathroom. As many people noted, and we expected, the rooms are VERY simple. Basically a bed, small tv & small bathroom with tub. The lack of a shower did make it more difficult for us... More

We visited this location because friends that went there told us it's a must see and some locals don't even know about it! Some stores that sell amazing handmade table clothes at excellent prices and other handmade crafts add to the tradition. We didn't make it to the museum, hopefully next time. Beautiful traditional houses , just walk in and... More

Though still part of the official summer season, according to the calendar, and beautiful weather, we arrived after dark to what appeared to be a deserted village. Wandering through the little streets, we found a small group relaxing in the restaurant, and they got us settled in our room. We were disappointed to find that all the activities that we... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and generally enjoyed the facility. It is unlike any hotel I have stayed at before - it is spread out - with lots of rooms, a couple of stores, a museam, the pool and the eating areas. You truly felt like you were in a tiny village, not a hotel - it was pretty... More
