About two minutes walk to the Archaeological Museum, and close to central attractions. You can hope a city bus to Knossos. Room size, judging from the experience of our group, is quite variable. Some of the rooms don't have baths but have very small shower enclosures. If you are build for comfort rather than speed, ask for a room with... More

it is a very nice and modern hotel in the heart of heraklion/crete. the room was clean and modern. the roof garden (pool, bar, ...) is very great and a real lovely place for balancing and relaxing because the city is very loud and bustling (directly in the front of the hotel (doors) too!). there are nice restaurants, shopping possibilities,... Great central location, helpful staff, great breakfast buffet, love the rooftop pool and bar. Only false note is the crazy rooftop disco/bar that takes place on the roof at night. If you are in a room on the 4th floor (where the executive rooms are) you had better be a sound sleeper or wear earplugs. Younger people who are into... More

Wonderful roof top pool and bar area. Very good breakfasts - lots of variety. Helpful staff. Only 10 euro taxi ride to/from airport. Good WiFi. Comfortable rooms. Great location. Would definitely stay here again.

Capsis Astoria would be my choice of accommodation in the capital city of Crete if I made another visit. It is just opposite the excellent new Archaeological Museum and well placed for restaurants, the harbour and shops. The rooms are very comfortable and the hotel is pleasantly decorated. We had breakfast there which was very good. There is a small... More

We arrived Friday afternoon and checked in within minutes! Room was clean, AC worked great. The only thing bad was the cigarette smoked that lingered from other rooms into our restroom. Location is great. Within five minute walking distance of lions square, shopping and restaurants.definitely try gregorios (like Starbucks but million times better) get a freddo iced and bougatsa! Its... More

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. The front desk people, all of them, were extraordinarily helpful; we asked for a bigger bed, we asked directions, we asked for recommendations on restaurants-we got it all! The rooms were a little small, but that is to be expected. The rooftop pool (Day) and bar (night) were fantastic. Really beautiful... More

We had a lovely stay at this hotel, despite the strong smell of cigarettes in the hallway by our room. Great breakfasts, excellent city location that was right by all city and out-of-the-city bus stops. Lots of shopping and restaurants right outside your door. Friendly, helpful staff. Pool is on roof with great view!

So this place looks very fancy but its all a facade. For example, the breakfast was served in one of the restaurant areas of the hotel. The food was terrible. The croissants were hard, everything was covered in Greece, the coffee was stale. Gross. Then the internet was some of the worse I've had in Greece. It cut out every... More

I stayed at the Astoria for 4 nights on arrival on holiday in Crete (£50pn single, including breakfast, booked through Travel Republic) having previously been there for 1 night on an earlier trip when their sister hotel, the Marin Dream, was overbooked. It is a modern hotel, with excellent facilities, only 10 minutes by taxi from the airport, within walking... More
