This place was ok for me because I've been in some pretty rank places on my travels. But... As far as hostels go, it wasn't really ideal. Pros: Bed is comfy, quiet hostel, great location, wifi works, communal fridge and kettle, free tea and coffee, towels included, rooms are big, lockers for valuables, quite nice decor - I like the... I didn't like having no AC, but I've dealt with worse in the jungles of SE Asia. There's no bar, so I went to a store just down the street close to the main road and picked up some bottles and brought them back. Sharing experiences with others coming from all parts of the world in a quite – friendly... More

That's about it though. The bathrooms were pretty shabby. The rooms were spacious though. You can even sleep rooftop if you want. 10 plus 10 days now in Heraklion Hostel and ... I feel at home! A place I had the opportunity to meet people that have something to say… Sharing experiences with others coming from all parts of the world in a quite – friendly place. Mrs. Irene and her family (owners of Heraklion hostel) know very well to keep the... More

There was a single shower for the whole building. There aren't lockers and the doors of the rooms remain opened to anyone who wanna come in. The curfew wasn't a problem cause I've stayed for one day, however if you wanna go out, keep that in mind. There is a "luggage store", but you are charged to leave anything there.

For your €10.00 a night you get a mattress in a room. There is no air conditioning so all the doors and windows are left open at night, there is also the option to sleep in beds on the roof under the stars. (Romantic?) The good points are the hostels central location, close to the port and bus station and... More

Great place to stay if just looking for a place to sleep for night or two. Very cheap. A clean sheet was provided and my bed was comfortable and clean. Owner was very helpful with information re cultural events and checked the local papers for me. The building is old and has great character ..personally I enjoyed that aspect of... More

It is the cheapest hostel I have ever been to in Europe but also one of the worst. I stayed for two separate nights, which made it manageable with not showering and using the toilet as little as possible. In my experience, the female staff is friendly. The young man gets annoyed if you ask to many questions and the... More

If you are a backpacker that stayed in 6 usd dorms in southeast asia you will be fine, this hostel deserves somethig like 80% The problem is that spoiled tourists want to pay 10eu and get 5 stars hotel service, i hate this kind of people The place is fine, great location, 10min walk from the ferry or bus station......
