We read some rather mixed reviews on tripadvisor about this hotel before we travelled and arrived in Elounda a little wary. We need not have worried. We stayed at the Elounda Gulf Villas this September. We had reserved a two bedroom villa but were upgraded to a three bedroom villa on arrival. The views are spectacular although even from the comparatively high villas, there is "riff raff" visible below and on the sides. We booked a one-bedroomed villa (Driros) with sea view, private pool, gym, hammam and steam room for a final relaxing week's break before winter. The website is a scam. there is now view if you dont pay 800 euro per night,the food is tasteless, the hotel is not at all clean,the beach is 20 minutes away and the hotel is not even one of a 1000 best places. the prices are outragious. SLH wrote them a complaint twice and they didnt bother to answer. more

We just stayed in a 3 Bedroom gorgeous sea view villa with the private gym - the price devided by 3 couples is comparable to staying at the Blue Palace or the Peninsula (which were just ok in my opinion for big resorts). The privacy and the view you just can't get at any of the other resorts in Elounda.... more
