Large, airy rooms, nicely furnished, well-presented, generally very clean. Breakfast decent and good value. Good location. Staff seem a bit jaded and are not so friendly - unusual for Crete. Wardrobe in our room needed replacing as did mattress, when we arrived the TV remote was not working, nor were some lights. The kitchen we booked to use was quite... More

I have booked a room for the period 17 to 21 August through the online booking page of the hotel on 21/7/2014. I immediately received a booking email confirming my booking and informing me that if I cancel this booking I will be charged the 50% of cost. I had no feedback from the hotel until 29/7/2014, more than a... More

We arrived in our taxi from Heraklion <www.herakliontaxi.com> (website run by Andreas, warmly recommended) to find that you can't actually drive up to the hotel because it is in the old city, but we were met by a member of the staff who helped with the luggage. The rooms are modest, but adequate and spotless. We found that our room... More

Reading the reviews I decided to book at Doge. I called them to ask where the parking is before booking and the woman who answered the phone was one of the rudest "assistants" I ever encountered. She said it's 5 minutes, so I asked where I can find it in the map, north east west... Then she started shouting that... More

This hotel is perfectly set in the Medieval core of Chania and is very quaint. It is steps away from the harbour and nestled among lovely shops and restaurants. The staff is lovely and the rooms are very clean. Our particular room faced a courtyard which was very quiet. We also had a beautiful, private roof top patio which saw... More

I called in January and booked four rooms for end April for 4 nights. Called two weeks later to confirm and asked to give a downpayment. I was told there was no need. A few weeks later one of my traveling companions called asking the same question and was again told that there was no need to give a credit... More

Effy and George are amazing! Very pleased with our stay, we came back again for couple more nights after exploring Cyprus. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Old Town. On a lovely street, charming shops all around! Breakfast is substantial. Rooms are most comfortable. For our second stay we chose the balcony room across the street. Please keep in in... More

Lovely hotel, great location and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast provided. The room was beautifully appointed with some really old wooden furniture all handmade and very interesting. We will definitely return. Thank you.
