Having read some of the views, I was a little dubious about our reservation. However, we were pleasantly surprised. Our room (3) had an upstairs king loft and two additional single day beds downstairs along with a table/chairs. The bathroom was nice, modern and comfortable. The room was large, spacious, light and airy with three big shuttered windows. Everything was... More

Really clean, friendly and welcoming hotel, just a very little way back from the beautiful harbour, it's not large and there are a lot of stairs, we were in room 8 at the top, but it can't be beaten for service. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they were so friendly and helpful. Our room was cleaned... More

I'm afraid I wasn't as satisfied as some of the other travellers. The service was quite bad, as the main person in charge is very rude and our room was not available upon our arrival (after 13.00 o' clock on the first day). The room was neither clean (I just want to mention that they hadn't changed the duvet cover... More

Beautiful Venetian suite-style rooms, equipped with all the necessary devices and amenities. Each one has its own mansion vintage furniture and its own decoration details. Rooms are clean and staff is nice, kind and helpful. Rooms are also equipped with hydro massage, TV, air condition, espresso coffee machine, a kitchenette, all the necessary kitchenware and portions of tea, espresso tabs,... More

We were traveling as a family of four. They has no trouble arranging for a bigger room. The rooms were clean, comfortable as well. The hostesses were nice, friendly and spoke a lot of English. The breakfast was very nice also, although it was a bit confusing as to what we were expected to do. We got help planning our... More

The location of this hotel is great if you wish to visit the old Chania. Most importantly the hotel is situated on a pedestrian street which I found useful if visiting with young children. The staff is very friendly (seemed to be a family hotel) and the hotel is fully equipped for families with kids. The hotel is small but... More

This is the second time I have stayed here. In spite of arriving very late at night (the flight from the uk doesn't arrive in Chania until midnight) the staff were ready to receive us and happily too! Again, I was not disappointed. The friendliest staff imaginable, and so willing to pass the time of day. Lovely room right in... More

My partner and I booked the Doge Traditional hotel through Expedia after looking for a cheap(ish) place to stay in Chania. I immediately got bad vibes about our choice of booking, as the numerous emails I sent the hotel (one in Greek) went unanswered. This resulted in us arriving at the hotel not knowing whether they had in fact sent... More

Large, airy rooms, nicely furnished, well-presented, generally very clean. Breakfast decent and good value. Good location. Staff seem a bit jaded and are not so friendly - unusual for Crete. Wardrobe in our room needed replacing as did mattress, when we arrived the TV remote was not working, nor were some lights. The kitchen we booked to use was quite... More
