Stayed just one night and had a room overlooking the harbour. The room was lovely, clean and well presented. A fantastic view over the harbour and a balcony to sit on and watch the world go by. The only downside was the noise from the bars at night, which is to be expected from such a popular spot. The staff... More

Although we had visited Hania many times, my partner and I had never stayed there. We decided to remedy this by going for a seven day break in one of the hotels surrounding the outer harbour. We settled on the Amphora Hotel and booked a room with a balcony and a harbour view. The Amphora is a refurbished Venetian mansion... More

I was very impressed with this hotel! It's well placed on the western side of the Venetian harbour in Old Town Chania! The receptionist was very friendly and exceptionally knowledgable with regard to things to do in the local area!! The hotels building dates back 100's of years but recent renovation have restored it into a wonderfully cosy boutique style!... More

This hotel is situated in a very picturesque part of town, near the beautiful Venetian Harbour. Our room was full of character and had some views. Unfortunately the noise from the floorboards overhead greatly disturbed our sleep at night and our comfort during the day. We did discuss the issue with the staff, they were understanding but unable to do... More

We stayed here for 4 nights in early September & would highly recommend it to others. It is in the perfect location for exploring Old town Chania. We had an economy room with a view of the harbor for 3 of the nights & upgraded 1 night to the next floor/level up (forget the name). We actually preferred the economy... More

An excellent 14th century Venetian hotel, opposite the old harbour. We loved it here so much that we extended our stay. Our room had a lovely seaside view and was wrapped around with flower filled terraces. The breakfast is fantastic, orange flavoured cake, rice pudding , cheese, ham breads, fruit and more. Another place that we hope to return to... More

We stayed in a delightful room with view over the harbour. Although this meant some noise at night, the benefits far out-weighed the noise. Our arrival coincided, unfortunately, with a staff shortage, so we had a challenge getting our cases up to our room - but the reward was a great view, and an apologetic manager with a bottle of... Sad to say we are leaving Hotel Amphoria tomorrow after a 6 nights stay. Our thanks to Anita on reception who was so helpful suggesting restaurants and places to see & Agustin who takes care of guests every need. We have always booked rooms facing the harbour which have been large and well decorated as we enjoy the changing harbour... More

The staff is only available from 7am to 10pm. The hotel offers breakfast for 10 Euros, but I would walk around to have a cheaper meal since it does not offer a specific value. Try Strata restaurant. If you are flying from Athens it is just about 2.5 hour flight to Herkalion and I would recommend renting a car (about... More

This is not a place you visit once. Crete, and particularly Chania, for all it's rich history and beauty, is a place which is comfortable and welcoming. And at the Hotel Amphora this is abundantly clear. It's location on the harbor, it's genuinely friendly staff and it's clean and comfortable accommodations make this small hotel a place to which I...
