Chania has always been a must to visit town for Crete visitors, with its Venetian architecture, culinary tradition and genuine hospitality. Unfortunately, mass tourism leads visitors to 5 star big chain resorts in the area around the town and not so much to smaller selected guest houses downtown Chania, which undoubtedly have the aroma of the old city. Vilelmine, combined... More

The hotel is few meters from one of the most beautiful touristic harbours. It is in a main square in front of the cathedral. The rooms are great especially for the paid prices. they don't offer breakfast but there are some options just beside the hotel. It is a very nice option especially during this period of the year where there... We enjoyed our stay very much. we were family with four grown kids, in two rooms. the rooms are very big and comfortable. the hotel is in a nice old building, located in a beautiful area of old chania. the stuff are very nice and ready to help on anything. I saw some respond saying there is no Wifi, there... More

As a couple we had a nice stay in this small and cozy hotel. Was clean and comfortable with all the necessary needs. Antonios the owner was very friendly and he was taking good care of the guests. For a simple and nice stay in the best location in the centre of old Chania town, definitely recommend it.

This hotel is located right in the heart of Old Town, just a few minutes from the harbor, which was great. The only not so great thing was that it also means that if you are in a lower room (we were on the first floor) you get a lot of street noise until the early hours of the morning.... More

Spent 3 days at Vilelmine at start of recent trip to Crete. Very good location, 5 min walk from bus station and 2 min from Old Port, with access from Betolo St and from the cathedral square. Second floor room overlooking square was very good - high ceiling, dark wood floors, nice furniture, balcony, etc. Minor problem with shower fitting,... More

There was a great view onto the square. The guy that was running the place was very helpful and knowledgeable in a low-key way which we liked. The rooms had character. Very central location. We had to get parking organised once we got there but it was no problem. Internet was fine! Overall - good place to stay.

We booked four nights at Vilelmine based on reviews on Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed, in fact we extended our stay for another night. The hard part is finding it since it is in the Old Town and no cars can travel there (this is similar to Old Town in nearby Rethimno, i.e. no cars). So, you park as... More

During my holiday in Crete in September I enjoyed a very pleasant stay at lovely Vilelmine Hotel, Chania. The rooms are very clean, carefully furnished, comfortable and properly equipped. But what makes this place special is the cosy atmosphere and warm hospitality by Alex and Antonis. I was travelling alone and they were always very friendly and helpful. And Antonis... More

I stayed for a few days on 2nd floor in a very pleasant room with a comfortable bed and welcome walk-in shower. The TV cable is cunningly disguised by a facsimile climbing plant. One can tune in to news channels like Al Jazeera English to keep up with outside world. The hotel is fronted by a little side street and,... More
