Akali hotel has supposedly undergone refurbishment. I stayed on the 3rd floor in room 311. The bathroom was stunning clean, modern, with brand new towels. The room itself was spacious the bed matresses new, chrisp ironed spotless white sheets. Thre were definitely signs of refurbishment. This hotel is in the worst possible location when you could be staying closer to the water in Chania. What else was wrong with it.........? 1. It was dirty - handles on doors had human oil which had not been cleaned in I don't know how long. 2. Carpets in rooms were filthy. 3. All rooms had stench of smoke.... more
