Milia is wonderful for those looking to enjoy nature and to relax in the quiet of the moutains. It feels like stepping back in time. This is a place where you can actually hear "quiet" and "nature". Milia is a traditional Cretan settlement. Masons were brought specifically from the Peloponnese region to build these authentic houses/rooms. The houses/rooms are clustered... more

I spent 12 days in Crete this summer and I must admit that Milia is the best experience I had on the island. Crete is very crowded in August: mass tourism colonizes the island and you may have trouble in finding an accomodation. When we arrived in Milia after the Chania madness we believed we found paradise! The traditional settlement... more

I am sorry to disappoint you but i had a tragic experience in Milia. We went there because we believed that we would see a beatiful little village into the woods.Eat great food and have short trips in beatiful beaches. 2km of awful road(don't try that by night/very dangerous)...to reach a place that has nothing to do with what the... more

If you are fortunate to stay here even for one night, you will never forget the experience! The drive to the settlement is like nothing else. more

Milia a beautiful place to stay with great fresh food and great scenery… if you can find it. The quaint stone houses are time machines back to long ago, where you step outside and you find yourself in the middle of flowering forests, thriving mountain life, and a quiet stillness you cannot find elsewhere. The accommodations are rustic, the solar... more

Take a trip into the mountains and stay at Milia. Loved this place...very peaceful in a beautiful setting. The room was very large and decorated in traditional Cretan style with a modern bathroom. The drive to Milia is along mountain roads and has stunning views. The food in the restaurant is excellent and the people who work there are very... more

Milia traditional settlement is just a perfect escape from crete mass turism. It is located in the Ennia Chora, on the road from Chania to Elafonissi. It is not difficult to get there because there are good signs on the roads, but he road to get there is not that good, but when you come there you just forget the... more

Milia Village is a perfect little Greek Village that has been restored and made into a type of eco-resort. What this means is that your stay is in a charming little stone house but with the amenities (such as indoor toilets/showers) that the original settlers didn't have. The rooms all have smill fireplaces for heat that are all ready to... more

Milia is an incredible place high-up in the mountains of Crete. Just getting there is an experience. We arrived in December so I imagine it is even more beautiful during the spring and summer months. The rooms are large and are well-appointed yet rustic. I loved sitting on the couch in front of the fireplace. The bed was large and... more
