We only stayed one night at Alcanea but we had a great experience. The hotel itself is centuries old and has been very tastefully restored and decorated. Our hostess was very friendly and helpful and breakfast was just fantastic. It's perfectly located in the old port frontage. I highly recommend it.

This is really an exceptional hotel . We where upgraded for free to the suite. The staff is great . The suite is big luxurious with a stunning view of the sea. Breakfast is great and they remember what you ordered the day before and bring them by themselves as soon as you sit .

We loved the Alcanea. Eleni welcomed us warmly and made us feel right at home. Our room on the first floor (Americans would call it the second floor) was attractively decorated and, most importantly, had a wonderful small balcony (with chairs and a small table) overlooking the fabulous old Venetian port. The authentic beamed ceiling must have been 12 feet... More

We stayed for 5 days in room 6 and we enjoyed every moment of it. The room had a spectacular view to the old lighthouse of the Chania old port. Service was excellent, breakfast was delicious (we enjoyed the fennel pie and the pie from Sfakia). Eva at the reception was very helpful and gave us great advice on where... More

We spent only one night in room 5 but it has been a very delightful experience. Eva and the whole staff were really kind and toughtful. Our room was not really spacious but perfectly clean, equipped, charming. Location is excellent, in front of the old port but marginal enough to avoid the noise of the night. Only one weakness: shower... More

We stayed in room V111 which was huge!! More of a penthouse than a room, souring high ceilings. The eclectic luxurious style of the room was perfect for the beautifully restored building. This was the best accommodation we stayed in on our Greek Island trip, saved the best till last and had a beautiful 2 night stay. The girls in... More

We stayed in room number 7 for 2 nights and it was our favorite place to stay of our 10 days in Greece! The room was gorgeous with the most perfect view of the harbor from the balcony! It was our honeymoon, so we were greeted with rose petals in the shape of a heart on the bed AND a... More

I ADORED this place. Bed was comfy, room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was lovely. The hotel is an old heritage building which adds character and charm. The staff were lovely and helpful. Thank you Eva for all your help!!! The food downstairs was amazing!! The BEST tomatoes and honey I have ever had. I would definitely stay here... More

Our family of four (2 kids 13yo and 9 yo), booked the Alcanea Boutique Hotel hoping it would prove to have something for everyone. We were not disappointed. We shared the large family room for some of the 7 night stay, which is plenty big enough even with a teenage boy who needs to sometimes escape his parents and 9... More

My wife and I stayed here on night on our way to Loutro. I was very disappointed, disappointed that there were no vacancies for the two nights we would need in Chania on our way back. The hotel is lovely. Excellent location, well appointed rooms that maintain a rustic quality. Complementary bottle of rocket fuel (ok, it was Rakomelo) on... More
