Thick walls, high ceilings, grape arbors on the roof, cool ocean breeze in the evening, friendly staff, very inexpensive ($35/night). Located a few mile west of Chania.

I went for 2 days stayed for 5 - too good to leave . Lovely place nice room and wonderful welcome from lovely family important when travelling alone. Try out the Black Tarten owned by Englishman -great charactor. Will definately go back to Summer Lodge -its like home from home .
