In summary: The location of Mama Nena is truly, truly great. The place itself is wonderful. Matina (owner) and Diana (housekeeper) are both great: They are hospitable and actually cater to you as individuals. Matina has loads of local knowledge/info which she proactively shares - if you want it :-) I cannot imagine anyone not being incredibly pleased that they... More

The only reason not to book a room here is if you can't negotiate a lot of stairs, impossible parking or a long walk with luggage from wherever you get dropped off. The old town has no access by car. Otherwise , be prepared for lovely accommodations in a beautifully updated 17th century house right on the harbor and near... More

Our fourth time at Mama Nena. Having stayed there once, we couldn't imagine staying anywhere else in Chania. It has the best location on the harbour with stunning views. The rooms are beautiful, stylish and well equipped. A lot of love and effort have gone into this place. There are quite a few very nice boutique hotels in Chania, but... More

We stayed here for 3 nights on the top floor with the best view in town - from one side we looked out onto the Venetian port and from the other small terrace we saw the Whiite mountains ( which were snow-capped). The rooms are modern with wonderful touches of the old world with beautifully restored furniture. The breakfast was... More

Best breakfasts. All local produce from a farm.... great hotel location ... Rooms tastefully done, very chic but can be noisy... Best probably you can get in chania. Feels like a home than a hotel. No parking at hotel but is 5-10 mins away....

Staying at Mame Nena was like having your own home in Chania - warm and relaxing environment, feeling welcomed by Matina and Diana, hot pot of coffee always ready in the kitchen, open room and kitchen spaces, comfortable bedrooms and incredible views of historical Chania harbour. This was one of the most relaxing times that I have enjoyed here in... More

We stayed here for a week over New Year 2015, and can absolutely recommend the Mama Nene. As bed & breakfasts go, it is in a league of its own, not just because of the tasteful decor, but also because the house has a wonderful family history and feels very loved by Matina, who restored her grandmother's house with such... This is truly a lovely place, we stayed here for 10 days in November for my birthday, exquisite decoration trendy but feel of the venetian is still there. We had balcony room on 1st floor, great walk in shower, comfortable bed, and french doora with shutters open to the harbour views. There was still plenty to do, most restaurants were... More

Yeah. What everyone else says about Mama Nena’s is true. Here’s how to find it. The hotel’s at N35d 31.002’ x E24d 01.104’. It's on a pedestrian-only street. If you take a taxi to Mama Nena’s, the driver will likely let you out next to a Starbuck’s (October 2014) at the SW corner of El Venzelou Square. Walk past the... More

I think we found the best place in Chania, and, at risk of repeating what everyone else has said, dont hesitate to book this fantastic B and B. We stayed in 'Stella" which is the whole of the top floor and includes the sun terrace at the back, overlooking the narrow street in the old town, and with the bedroom... More
