its all been said already - quirky, friendly, wonderful. breakfast on the roof terrace [fabulous view across harbour] is a real social occasion; not cordon blue or flashy waiters but do it yourself; but fresh wholemeal bread, bags of oranges to press your own juice. and it's impossible not to get into conversation with fellow guests. "i'm sorry, i don't... More

A friend recommended pension theresa and I wasn't disappointed. Everything about this place is like no other accommodation you will stay in during your time in Crete. Having said that it maybe like no other place you will ever stay in. This accommodation has a wonderfully bohemian history and you feel it the moment you walk through the door. The... More

Our second year there and will be returning again. The rooms are all different and bit quirky but the service is very friendly and the rooms clean. A bonus is a lovely little balcony looking out over Chania harbour. Our second year here and we will be returning again, really enjoy it.

What a find - great location with the terrace overlooking the harbour - wonderful to help yourself to breakfast up there and in the evening with a drink watching the sun go down and the lights coming on around the harbour. Maria is a real character and full of life; we stayed in Room 2 which was very quirky. You... More

We stayed in room No1. From here, after walking up the narrow flight of stairs, we could view the harbour of Chania from our balcony. We loved the old world charm that oozed from this hotel and our room. To find the hotel, we parked our rental nearby and then walked to find this wonderful hotel. We were able to... More

Maria orchestrates this family owned pension and historic building from her desk surrounded by cosy seating and interesting objects. She tells stories and weaves a spell that intoxicates guests. Nestled in a corner near the Maritime museum it's tricky to find but once there it's an oasis in the centre of the Old Town and Harbour. Every room is different,... More

This is a lovely old house with a great deal of charm and old world character in a great location. It's not for those looking for all modern conveniences (like lifts or parking) but more than makes up for this with the homely ambiance and situation in a beautiful side street just a few steps away from the sea front.... Pension Theresa has one of the best views in the heart of Chania Harbour. Maria who manages her family business made me feel so at home right from the start. she is great fun and the room i stayed in was cool and roomy. at times it was very noisy but at others very quiet. a taxi can drop you... Very similar experience to others. Pension Theresa is located in a great location, 2 second walk from the habour front. Communal balcony on top floor is a real winner. Maria and her father are such welcoming people, Maria was more than happy to cater to any of our needs. Very good value for money. A true home away from home.

Quirky and very convenient. Good value. Smallish room but so full of character. The most amazing curved staircase you have ever seen. Roof terrace with kitchen is wonderful. Great place to stay. Very obliging hosts. Happy to store stuff etc.
