We made a mistake booking this hotel - there are three Rea hotels on the island and we stupidly had been reading decent reviews about a different one before we booked and realised our mistake. We feared the worst and we agree with most of what dandl132013 have said below. We were the only brits there, unsurprisingly. We booked through... More

August 2013 The holiday started badly when we had to wait for so long for the transfer bus & then were dropped of f at 2.00am at the bottom of 76 steps & told by the bus driver that the hotel was at the top. There was nothing to say that the hotel was there so we had to trudge... More

The hotel is situated not far from the center of Agios Nikolaos. It will take you 5 minutes to get to the Lake where as they say Afrodita was bathing. There 2 beaches near it, the closest one is shingle beach and the other sand beach is in 7 minutes walking. To get to the hotel you need to go... More

We stayed here in 2010, we had a weird time as everyone else on the trip hated it but we had an amazing time! It was filmed as a bad hotel whilst we were there, but we had a beautiful room, loved the food, only ever had courtesy. I think if you want 'england abroad' this is not the hotel... More

We stayed there for 1 week at mid August with another couples. We were very satisfied with both everything. The staff polite and helpful. Food was delicious and plenty too. Recommended. The comments about the stairs of the other travellers are true BUT there is also another road that is only a few steps away from the hotel so don't... More

The transfer by coach was ok, except we got dumped in ag. nik. at 4am to find our own way up a hill to the hotel. Not being seasoned travelers, usually used to caravaning and camping, we were quite happy with the accommodation at the Rea Hotel. The hotel was up a lot of steps, but so was most of... More

We stayed at the rea hotel in july 2010. It was a reasonably price at the time and for what we got it was a bed at the end of the day. We had a great transfer by taxi so it only took us an hour to arrive at the hotel, but other guests we had spoken to it took... More

The Rea Hotel is advertised as 2, and sometimes a 3 star hotel. It may have been this in 1970 but today its a no frill hotel that is run down, dirty and smelly. The entrance to the hotel has 77 steep steps to reception, none of which is mentioned in their advertising. Having lots of steps is understandable as... More

upon arrival we were allocated a very small room, with a filthy floor, decrepid fixtures and fittings which appeared to not have been updated or cleaned in the last 20 years! The water from the shower was freezing every night. There was no air conditioning unless you gave the manager 5 euros a night. The dining room was like a... More
