Decent, clean place and close to all the tourist attractions. Couple of blocks from the Omonia metro station. Staff was quite helpful. Rooms were small and the bathrooms were smaller. But value for money nevertheless

As I wanted to spend just a night in Athens to catch an early morning train from Larissa railway station, I chose this hotel after researching on Tripadvisor. The station is about 15 mints walking distance with a heavy backpack. The location of this hotel is in slightly run down looking residential and business area. It is not ideally located for... More

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and it was OK if you don't seek many facilities of a hotel; Simple rooms with cable TV and hot water all the time. On the last day of our stay, they kept our luggage until our plane departure time. The receptionists were helpful and welcoming and they have great memory of... More

As mentioned cheap prices but also the location was cheap. The location is very good - 200 meters to Omonia metro station. You can even walk until most of the locations that worth visited. Furniture is old, with old smell, rooms are small. The street noise and is incredible, even in the night. Also, the noise fromthe hotel is quite... More

The room was clean and served its purpose. For Omonia area, we felt safe at night walking to the metro (could not be said for one of our other hotels further away from the main square). I would not suggest walking towards the acropolis at night though... still a little sketch. The biggest concern we had was the smell. The... More

The Hotel is older but very clean. Rooms are alright, nothing special but big enough and clean. The shower is very, very small and not for somebody bigger then 4'5 60 pound ;) The stuff is UNBELIEVABLE FRIENDLY, especially the Romanian guy (sorry i forgot your name my friend ) The area itself is not bad as other people are mentioned.... If you have other options - go for them. Staff is very nice and the service is good, price is very low. The lobby looks nice but the rooms are very simple, what you expect for such a low rate. Not the cleanest place I've been, but it's not terrible. Wireless was working on and off. It is very noisy,... More

Staying in Omonia

Neighborhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
