if having a walk around the Plaka area and the Akropolis is your only goal, this hotel is very well located for that. The prices are also OK ,but bear in mind, that you pay for a really dirty, smelly room, that is horrible condition and doesn't have one corner that does not need some paintjob or repair (plugs are... I am giving this hotel a mark of five, not because its the best place we have stayed in, but because it filled all all our requirements. We were given a rooftop suite, which had a great view of the Acropolis, and at night it was floodlit and was spectacular indeed. The room itself was very comfortable, if a bit... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights last month and we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from Syntagma Square from where you can get the bus or metro straight to airport. Despite other reviews stating that the area looks a bit rough and run down, there is no reason to feel unsafe simply... More

We stayed in this hotel for one night at the end of our trip. We had used a different one in Athens at the start, and wished we had stayed here instead.... We had a family room on the top floor with views of the parthenon. The room was spotless, the guys on reception friendly and helpful, and the room... More

We spent 5 nights here nearly 2 weeks ago. The location is very central and close to public transport. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The hotel was in a quiet area away from the hustle and bustle of the noisy roads, which made for a peaceful nights sleep. Everything was clean and we had a nice breakfast on... More

We spent 3 nights here in late February. The hotel is approximately a 10 minute walk from Syntagma Metro station. We had room 303 which has a view of the Acropolis. In order to get to the room you must clime 67 stairs, exit onto the rooftop terrace/garden then enter the room...we didn't mind this but if you have mobility... More

Amazing value for money, very clean, boasting a secret view of the acropolis form the roof garden, Kimon, is the best place to stay in the centre of Athens. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Wifi could be improved otherwise excellent!

We’ve just come back from three nights stay. We booked direct through the hotel’s own website and saved money on what the booking sites were quoting. The hotel is ideally located for exploring the sites and sights of Athens and is about 400m/5 minutes walk from the X95 airport express bus stop near Syntagma square. The rooms are simply furnished... More

We stayed for 2 nights in Oct 14 and would have liked to stay longer! Hotel isn't the smartest but has a lot of character and is in a perfect location. If you don't mind walking up 3 flights of stairs with your bags (no lifts) then recommend room 16. Has beautiful views from the balcony of the Acropolis (great... More

It's located near Plaka, walking distance to Hella Shopping Area and Ermou St. Walking distance to Acropolis. Spacious room (room no 2) with big balcony. However, the toilet is very small. And wifi coverage is very weak in the room.

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
