I booked two nights and when I got there the only reason I didn't leave was because it was already 11 PM and I had already paid for it. The staff speaks no english so it would have been hard to get my money back, or to cancel the reservation. Pictures are misleading the rooms look nothing like that, trust... More

i really don't know what i was expected but anyways this hotel was by far disappointing. i mean my room - at sixth floor- was like a cage , if i kept the window closed, i was drowned and suffocate and if i opened it i needed to deal with wretchedness. The rooms needs a Total upgrade or else is... More

As a budget room ( €30 for a twin including breakfast) we were not expecting luxury. The furniture in the room was old and shabby but not a problem. Bed linen was clean and beds firm and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful. Staff friendly and helpful. Omonia isn't the greatest neighbourhood, but we knew this. However cleanliness (or lack of) will... More

The pictures were misleading, the hotel common areas were dirty and in bad condition, bad smell. It was likely that the room had not been cleaned prior to my arrival and the bottom sheet had a suspicious big and sticky stain which either did not come out when washed (and should be replaced) or is an indication that the sheets... Although the location is convenient, it is close to the metro station and easy to go to other places. BUT, it is indeed not a safe area to stay, many homeless people hanging around. When I enter the hotel, I already feel it is absolutely not right, the reception is very old, smelly and nasty, one of the staff is... More

A reviewer wrote: "no carpet in the halls or rooms..." I've been in many Greek hotels from cheap and cheerful to 5 star luxury and I've never seen carpets in any of them. I stayed for five days, the staff were friendly and the room adequate; I like hard pillows. Easy walking to the market, Acropolis and archaeological museum. Sure... More

The Claridge in Omonia Square is not the best hotel in the world. But if you want a really cheap stay in the middle of Athens it's not that bad. It's just a couple of steps from the escalators to the Metro which is very handy for going to Pireaus. It's an easy walk to Montasteraki and Plaka, and up... More

THIS IS THE WORST PLACE I HAVE SEEN IN MY LIFE! Please if you are looking for cheap accommodation look else where. The area is dangerous, the hotel is disgusting in the outside and in. Our bathroom had cochroaches and the sheets weird stains. The staff are rude and swore in front of me and this is just honestly the... More

Claridge Hotel is a prime example of how "you get what you pay for". This is a below average hotel with dark, old rooms that clearly show their age. The receptionist wasn't terribly friendly either. The area where the hotel is located (Omonia Square) is not the best place in the world either. It's full of questionable characters (mainly illegal... More

I booked this hotel through venere.com. The photos of the hotel on the website were pretty decent and nice.So i zeroed in on claridge after looking at various options. I got the deal for 48euros a night and booked for 3 nights. It was supposed to be our first trip to Greece and obviously we were very excited about it.... More
