Avoid this hotel, the price might be appealing but, I am 100% sure you will regret booking this hotel as soon as you enter the reception or what's more, attempt to only just confirm your reservation by phone and you will realise what sort of people run this hotel. This is what happened to us, I was looking on a... More

The hotel is quite poor. Friendly staff though and helpful. At 40 EUR a night during our stay. One double and one single bed, no breakfast included. Free WiFi was a positive side and room was clean although only 2 towels were provided, one bath and one face towel for the three of us. Only soap and no shampoo provided.... More

When we arrived at the hotel, we were negatively surprised at the overall appearance of the building, although the person at the reception was very friendly. First, the images provided did not respond to the reality. It must be noted that we were "welcomed" in a small, depressive room for three persons. Second, the beds were very uncomfortable and the... This place was terrible. The rooms were small, dirty and the double bed was barely bigger than a single. It does not look anywhere near as good as the pictures!!! On top of that the owners were very rude and didn't seem to have a clue about anything! They shouted at us because we booked too short notice! After telling... More

Like many other travellers already stated, this Hotel is gross and should be closed down! It looks nothing like in the pictures in the website. It lacks basic hygiene (hairs in bathroom, stains on sheets) & staff is unfriendly and unhelpful. My room had holes burnt in the sheets ans curtains - while the staff claimed it was a Non-smoking... I booked two nights and when I got there the only reason I didn't leave was because it was already 11 PM and I had already paid for it. The staff speaks no english so it would have been hard to get my money back, or to cancel the reservation. Pictures are misleading the rooms look nothing like that, trust... More

The rooms needs a Total upgrade or else is... More

As a budget room ( €30 for a twin including breakfast) we were not expecting luxury. The furniture in the room was old and shabby but not a problem. Bed linen was clean and beds firm and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful. Staff friendly and helpful. Omonia isn't the greatest neighbourhood, but we knew this. However cleanliness (or lack of) will... More

Staying in Omonia

Neighborhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
