Athens Studios provides clean studio and apartment styled rooms. Our room had a small kitchenette, tv area, and a sleeping room with two sets of bunk beds. The beds were a bit squeaky, but the value still can't be beat. Our room was immediately above the bar, so there was noise until about midnight each night, but nothing we couldn't... More

Truly hellish experience...My friend and I booked two beds in a six bed room..thinking that it might look somewhat like the advertised pictures. The two room suite is INCREDIBLY SMALL! As in six beds should not have fit in that room. To top it off, we paid 25 euros per bed. At that rate, we could have booked a two... More

I am really disappointed about this review in our property. The Apartment you had booked has 48 metres of living area which is about 2-3 times bigger that a normal dorm style accommodation option. It is fully self contained and has a ensuite, kitchen, 2 balconies and full living area as well as 2 air conditioners. As soon as you... More

Little gem of a hotel, close to major sites including the Acropolis. Also close to train station. The staff were all very friendly. The double room we had was huge with a lounge room. Really perfect for us and would definitely return. Loved Athens!

A wonderful unique hosteling experience for me so far. I stayed 2 nights in the 6 person mixed studio apartment as a solo female traveler and was very happy with it. The bedroom is normal hostel style with bunkbeds, but it is then attached to a kitchen unit, livingroom, and bathroom. We also had two balconies, not sure how standard... More

Can't say anything bad about this hostel. It was like a dream come true after being in India. Everything was very clean and there was a bar downstairs. I went in off season so there were less people and they tended to be a lot more interesting and cool than the usual hostel crowd. Long story short awesome, with one... More

Have stayed here several times over the last few years, I just absolutely adore the place and keep coming back. Great location, amazing staff, clean and well kept rooms (the apartments are to die for, such great value!), a sportsbar which shows all kind of sports (for a rugby-fan away from home, this was perfect) and that also hosts karaoke,... I had booked at Athens Backpackers but transferred to Athens Studio. Staff is friendly, ready to answer questions. Beds are average for this kind of hostel, i.e.not very comfortable. The kitchenette is a nice touch, but the fridge was very noisy. The shower is very impractical: there is no separation on the floor, which means the bathroom is flooded. Breakfast... More

We stayed in Athens Studios for one night before going to the Greek Islands and then one night when we came back. It was in a perfect location, only 5 minutes walk to the Acropolis and many restaurants nearby. The room was great, very spacious with a comfortable bed, a lounge, an ensuite and then a large balcony. No complaints... More

Great location, close to metro, safe and easy access to everything. Friendly reception, clean, comfy and well catered rooms. Everything you need from laundromat, bar (including welcome drinks) to fish and chips. Definitely recommended!

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighborhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianized Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centerpiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
