Great little hotel on the Athens Riviera, small but clean rooms, and power shower. A little damp smell in the room but hey at this price what the heck. A/C worked well as did the TV. Great friendly staff with good English very helpful.Breakfast simple but tasty. Mixed guests older and young students at our stay. Good place if waiting for a boat or visit to the islands. Diffficult to find up a one way street even the taxi driver got lost. more

About me: 27, male, from NYC, on honeymoon, laid back kinda guy....

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Avra Hotel for one night in September before we headed off for Mykonos and a few other islands. We could not have made a better decision than to fight the jetlag of a 9 hour flight in this beautiful port town of Rafina. We requested an early check in and we let into our room at 10am. For one, Rafina is closer to the airport (20min) than the other port, Pireaus and secondly, it’s a shorter ferry ride from Rafina to islands such as Mykonos.

The town offers many, many restaurants, bars, and tavernas so don’t think (like I did) that it’s just a port town. The port itself is literally a 5 minute walk from the front of the hotel. We had a seaview room and it was worth the extra 20 Euro. We paid 120 through the hotel direct. Rooms are nicely decorated, a little small (but it’s Europe) and have a nice size balcony.
